Description

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Position The Hardware group at Eikon Therapeutics develops super-resolution, high-throughput optical instrumentation. The Hardware team is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to participate in future instrument development. As part of Eikon’s diverse team of biologists, medicinal chemists, hardware, and software engineers, you will design and deploy custom super-resolution microscopes and automated systems that will enable the exploration and quantification of Eikon’s high-content datasets. About you You are an adventurous, passionate, and creative electrical engineer eager to apply your talents to empower a new way of discovering medicines in a highly interdisciplinary biopharmaceutical environment. You are excited about the challenges of developing cutting-edge hardware from the ground up to enable novel technologies and solve real-world problems, and you will bring to these challenges enthusiasm, high energy, intellectual curiosity, and technical excellence. What you’ll do Join an engineering team designing super-resolution microscopes, including signal processing, motion control, robotics and system automation that enables Eikon’s scientific achievements Contribute to system design architecture of instrument control and data acquisition systems Design, prototype, and test electronic assemblies. Work closely with the microscopy and automation teams on design validation, implementation, and design improvements Build and release assemblies to be used by scientists and end-users, creating a full suite of documentation and test procedures Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience designing complex digital and analog circuity Systems design experience contributing to design architecture Ability and desire to bring your design through all stages including directing PCBA layout, working with contract manufacturers, testing, debugging and rework of high density PCBAs with fine pitch components Strong experience debugging systems using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers Hands-on experience building test set-ups, reworking and modifying assemblies during development and testing Experience in high-speed circuitry design such as DDR memory interfaces Proficiency with CAD systems for schematic capture and experience in directing and reviewing PCB layout for signal integrity and EMI Experience in debugging and design validation of microcontrollers or SoC-based systems Experience creating and implementing software and hardware test benches Demonstrated proficiency analog circuit design, analysis, and simulation / modeling Strong communication and collaboration skills, presenting design ideas and receiving input from internal customers and product marketing FPGA design and debug experience is preferred Intel/Altera Quartusexperience and SystemVerilog proficiency is preferred At Eikon, employee compensation also includes bonus and equity compensation, in addition to several generous benefit programs, including:​ 401k plan with company matching​ Medical (premiums covered by Eikon at 95%), dental and vision insurance (premiums covered by Eikon at 100%)​ Mental health and wellness benefits​ Weeklong summer and winter holiday shutdowns​ Generous paid time off and holiday policies​ Life/AD&D Insurance (premiums covered by Eikon at 100%) and optional supplemental employee-paid life/AD&D policies ​ Enhanced parental leave benefit​ Daily subsidized lunch program when on-site​ The expected salary range for this role is $152,000 to $168,000 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
