Primary Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrates clinical competency and technical skills as a CRT. Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures, positioning patients on the examining table and adjusting equipment to acquire optimum views of specific body area as ordered by clinician. Performs procedures based on established technique chart using independent judgment to support the radiological orders. Follows standardized imaging practices and protocols. Exhibits solid understanding and relationships with other departments as it relates to radiological services. Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of patient care flow and insurance concepts. Uses appropriate technique charts and assures markers are set appropriately. Demonstrates ability to work in multiple x-ray sites performing needed studies. Demonstrates ability to retrieve studies from PACS for review and assists with quality assurance. Maintains needed logs for QC based on manufacturer recommendation. Provides patient education as pertains to requested studies. Reviews dosimeter reports monthly. Performs appropriate infection controls processes. Acts as a role model in providing care; assists in precepting CRTs, and Limited XT staff and guides accordingly. Supports team approach and service focus work with colleagues in a “team approach” to encourage a positive and service-oriented image for the department. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma/GED Required License/Certification: Imaging CA Radiologic Tech Required Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required (BLS expiration date must be valid 60 days from the start date) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Preferred Certification from Board Approved Medical Assistant Organization Preferred Work Experience: 3 year working experience as an X-Ray Technician required
