With a culture that prides itself on safety and performance, we’re looking for professionals who value doing things right the first time.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Job Summary:</p>\n<p>XCU is currently seeking a Lube and Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. This role is responsible for performing lube services, filter changes, and routine preventative maintenance on heavy equipment both in the field and in the shop. While not a full-service mechanic role, limited on-the-spot repairs may be necessary to keep equipment moving safely and efficiently. The right candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to keeping our fleet ready for anything.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform scheduled lube services and preventative maintenance on heavy construction equipment including excavators, dozers, backhoes, skid steers, and haul trucks.</li>\n<li>Change oil, filters, fluids, and complete inspections per maintenance schedules.</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate service records and logs for each piece of equipment serviced.</li>\n<li>Identify and report potential mechanical issues for escalation to the repair team.</li>\n<li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of lube truck and work area.</li>\n<li>Conduct minor field repairs when needed (e.g., hose swaps, belts, minor electrical).</li>\n<li>Follow proper safety protocols while working around active job sites and heavy machinery.</li>\n<li>Communicate with the shop foreman and operators to coordinate maintenance schedules.</li>\n<li>Operate company lube/service truck in a safe and responsible manner.</li>\n<li>Ensure equipment is returned to service in a timely and safe condition.</li>\n<li>Work independently in the field while remaining connected with the maintenance team.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Qualifications:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience: 2+ years in equipment maintenance or lube technician role; experience with Caterpillar and other pipeline/construction equipment preferred.</li>\n<li>Skills: Strong understanding of PM schedules and heavy equipment systems (hydraulic, diesel, filtration); basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.</li>\n<li>Tools/Equipment: Familiar with operating service trucks and using hand/power tools safely.</li>\n<li>Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50–80 lbs, work in outdoor environments, and maneuver around large machinery.</li>\n<li>Certifications: Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.</li>\n<li>Work Ethic: Self-starter with strong attention to detail, positive attitude, and a commitment to teamwork and safety.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>What We Offer:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive hourly compensation and overtime opportunities.</li>\n<li>Daily per diem for field work as applicable.</li>\n<li>Company-provided service truck (if applicable to position).</li>\n<li>Professional development and advancement opportunities within the maintenance department.</li>\n<li>A safety-first culture that values your contributions in the field.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Why Join XCU?</p>\n<p>At XCU, we know that great equipment is only as good as the people maintaining it.
