    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">POSITION SUMMARY:</span></p>\n<p>Under the general supervision of the Principal, the Guidance Counselor provides comprehensive support services to promote the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of all students. The Guidance Counselor works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to implement programs that foster student success, ensure equitable access to resources, and provide individualized interventions when needed.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develops and manages elementary, middle, and/or high school student scheduling.</li>\n<li>Collects, analyzes, and utilizes data to design and implement interventions within a problem-solving framework.</li>\n<li>Monitors student progress across academic, social, emotional, and behavioral domains; evaluates effectiveness of services on student achievement.</li>\n<li>Provides direct support through individual counseling, small group sessions, and classroom-based interventions.</li>\n<li>Conducts student and family assessments, referrals, and counseling.</li>\n<li>Oversees implementation of school-based programs and initiatives.</li>\n<li>Collaborates with professional staff, outside agencies, and community organizations to support student needs.</li>\n<li>Develops and maintains family outreach initiatives and community partnerships.</li>\n<li>Serves as a member of the school Threat Management Team and other school-based committees.</li>\n<li>Completes reports and documentation required by the Principal, district, and federal/state/local agencies.</li>\n<li>Designs and facilitates professional development for staff on identifying and supporting at-risk students.</li>\n<li>Interviews students and families, coordinates assessments, diagnostics, and observations, and presents findings in both oral and written form.</li>\n<li>Provides crisis counseling and intervention services on a continuum of care.</li>\n<li>Oversees the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process.</li>\n<li>Manages services related to ESOL, ESE, IEP, and 504 plan compliance.</li>\n<li>Works collaboratively with the district psychologist, resource teachers, and other support staff.</li>\n<li>Coordinates and facilitates state assessments.</li>\n<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS</span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master’s Degree in Counseling or related field from an accredited institution.</li>\n<li>Florida Educator’s Certificate with Guidance Counselor certification (required).</li>\n<li>Minimum of three (3) years of prior Guidance Counselor experience (preferred).</li>\n<li>Strong organizational and time management skills.</li>\n<li>Ability to multi-task when necessary.</li>\n<li>Great oral and written communication skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent customer service skills.</li>\n<li>Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).</li>\n<li>Knowledge of state and federal laws that apply to the duties of this position.</li>\n<li>Must be able to analyze information and make recommendations to management as needed.</li>\n<li>Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions within the scope of the position.</li>\n<li>Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.</li>\n<li>Ability to maintain strict organization and student confidentiality.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching for extended periods of time.</li>\n<li>Periodic need to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds and/or perform a two-person lift greater than 50 pounds.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WORK ENVIRONMENT:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work is generally performed in a fast-paced, high volume, school/office environment.</li>\n<li>Must be able to tolerate varying environmental conditions including, but not limited to heat, cold, rain, etc.</li>\n<li>Must be able to tolerate frequent interruptions from administrators, staff members, students, and others.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Travel to various school, district, state, and/or community events may be required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">https://info.flclearinghouse.com</span></p>",
