    "description": "<p>Tri-City Groundbreakers, Inc. is a family-owned, fast-growing excavating and heavy civil contractor proudly serving projects across the entire state of Michigan, with a strong focus on the Detroit metro area and surrounding regions. We're seeking an experienced <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Estimator/Project Manager</span> ready to play a key role in our continued expansion and success.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You'll Do:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build strong, lasting relationships with clients, owners, and vendors to drive competitive bidding and unlock negotiated project opportunities.</li>\n<li>Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for a diverse range of heavy civil, excavation, and underground utility projects.</li>\n<li>Manage multiple bids simultaneously—organize documents, track deadlines, attend pre-bid meetings, pre-qualification sessions, bid openings, and post-bid follow-ups.</li>\n<li>Transition awarded projects smoothly to the field team: collaborate with superintendents and foremen to control costs, maintain scope, and protect/produce targeted margins.</li>\n<li>Monitor job performance through unit-based cost tracking and ensure projects deliver expected profitability.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We're Looking For:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent hands-on experience in heavy civil construction and excavation (required).</li>\n<li>Strong background in reading and interpreting civil plans, specifications, and engineering details.</li>\n<li>Working knowledge of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Municipal and </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">MDOT</span> bidding processes, requirements, and expectations.</li>\n<li>Proficiency in producing and analyzing unit-based job cost reports and line-item budgets.</li>\n<li>Experience developing project schedules in <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Microsoft Project</span> or <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Primavera P6</span>.</li>\n<li>Advanced skills in estimating/takeoff software: <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">HCSS HeavyBid</span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">AutoCAD/Civil 3D</span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Carlson Takeoff</span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">AGTEK</span>, or similar.</li>\n<li>Solid command of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Microsoft Office Suite</span> (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook).</li>\n<li>Bonus: Accounting or business management experience.</li>\n<li>High integrity, strong work ethic, excellent communication, and proven problem-solving ability.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We Offer:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.</li>\n<li>Hybrid position option available (office-based in Midland with flexibility for remote work on bidding/estimating tasks, depending on role needs and candidate setup).</li>\n<li>Comprehensive benefits package: BCBSM health insurance, and retirement package.</li>\n<li>Vehicle allowance or mileage reimbursement for business use.</li>\n<li>Performance-based year-end bonuses tied to project net revenue.</li>\n<li>Opportunity to grow with one of Michigan’s most dynamic contractors.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Our main office is in <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Midland, Michigan</span>.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>If you're a driven professional who thrives in a family-oriented, high-performance environment and wants to help shape the future of a growing company serving projects statewide (with emphasis on Southeast Michigan), we'd love to hear from you.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Tri-City Groundbreakers, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>It is the policy of this Company to assure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, religion, sex, color, national origin, age or disability.
