We are currently hiring full-time, part-time, and relief technicians to support our General Practice, Emergency, and Surgery departments.</p><p>Our technicians play a vital role in delivering high-quality medical care, supporting our veterinarians, advocating for patients, and providing exceptional service to our clients. If you are passionate about veterinary medicine and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced hospital environment, we would love to hear from you.</p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Sign-On Bonus Available for Credentialed Technicians (CVT, LVT, RVT)<br></strong></p><p><br></p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">What You&#39;ll Do</span></strong></p><p><strong>Patient Care &amp; Nursing</strong></p><ul><li>Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, diagnostics, and treatments</li><li>Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, and medical observations</li><li>Safely restrain animals for examinations and procedures</li><li>Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in condition</li><li>Provide nursing care to hospitalized and recovering patients</li></ul><p><strong>Diagnostic &amp; Laboratory Procedures</strong></p><ul><li>Collect blood, urine, fecal, and other diagnostic samples</li><li>Perform in-house laboratory testing including bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology preparation, and fecal analysis</li><li>Take diagnostic radiographs using proper positioning and radiation safety protocols</li><li>Prepare and submit samples to outside laboratories</li></ul><p><strong>Surgery &amp; Anesthesia</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare patients and surgical suites for procedures</li><li>Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia under veterinarian supervision</li><li>Monitor anesthetic depth, vital signs, and patient safety during procedures</li><li>Maintain surgical instruments and sterile equipment</li><li>Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures</li></ul><p><strong>Pharmacy &amp; Treatments</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed</li><li>Fill prescriptions accurately and label medications according to hospital protocols</li><li>Maintain controlled drug inventory and required regulatory logbooks</li></ul><p><strong>Emergency &amp; Critical Care</strong></p><ul><li>Assist with emergency procedures including CPR and life-saving interventions</li><li>Provide monitoring and supportive care for ICU and critical patients</li></ul><p><strong>Client Communication</strong></p><ul><li>Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, preventative care, and post-operative instructions</li><li>Support veterinarians in discussing diagnostics and treatment recommendations when appropriate</li></ul><p><strong>Hospital Operations</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, exam rooms, surgery suites, and equipment</li><li>Clean and sterilize medical instruments and maintain hospital equipment</li><li>Follow proper infection control and biosecurity procedures</li></ul><p><strong>Team Support</strong></p><ul><li>Support and mentor veterinary assistants, students, and new team members</li><li>Collaborate with veterinarians and hospital staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient care</li></ul><p><br></p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum <strong>1 year of experience</strong> in veterinary emergency, urgent care, or general practice</li><li>Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred</li><li>Certified or licensed veterinary technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) preferred</li><li>Proficient in restraint, IV catheter placement, blood draws, anesthesia monitoring, and medication administration</li><li>Familiarity with EzyVet or similar veterinary software a plus</li><li>Strong multitasking skills and ability to remain calm in high-stress situations</li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork skills</li><li>Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and restrain animals safely using Fear-Free techniques</li><li>Willingness to work in an environment with noise, potential allergens, zoonotic risks, and medical equipment</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Schedule:</strong></p><ul><li>Hospital hours: <strong>8:00 AM &ndash; 11:00 PM</strong></li><li>Shifts vary between<strong>&nbsp;8, 10, or 12 hours</strong>, based on hospital needs</li><li><strong>Weekend, evening, and holiday</strong> availability may be required</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What We Offer:</strong></p><ul><li>Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance</li><li>HSA &amp; FSA Options</li><li>401(k) with Employer Match</li><li>Mental Health &amp; Financial Wellness Support</li><li>CE Allowance</li><li>Paid Time Off</li><li>Scrub Allowance</li><li>Pet Care Discounts</li><li>Sign-On Bonus (for CVT, LVT &amp; RVT)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About Us:</strong></p><p>Absecon Veterinary Hospital is part of a thriving, privately owned network of hospitals across South Jersey and Pennsylvania, including Mount Laurel Animal Hospital and Pennsauken Animal Hospital &amp; Urgent Care.
