Location: California (San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento)

POSITION SUMMARY
The UAS Pilot is the final authority on all safety of flight operations, responsible for the safety of on-site personnel and the public in the Area of Operation (AOO), and therefore has full operational control over any flight they initiate. Responsibilities listed in Title 14, C.F.R. Part 107, company and customer standard operating procedures, and Safety Management Systems (SMS) are all to be complied with as part of the position requirements. You'll be provided with the drone systems, PPE, vehicle, safety gear, and all other kit necessary for you to execute your flight operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain a working knowledge and compliance with all FAA Part 107 regulations as outlined in the Federal Aviation Regulations and Airman Information Manual,
Comply with company and customer standard operating procedures and safety management system (SMS) requirements,
Maintain the appropriate licensing, training, proficiency, and competency on UAS being operated,
Lead your flight team in risk assessments pre-mission,
Be respectful and responsive to the needs of the public and protection of the environment,
Ensure all equipment is airworthy in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and company requirements,
Accomplish maintenance inspections and repairs as required,
Maintain digital records of flight and maintenance logs,
Ensure consistent imagery quality checks before final transfer to project leads.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
Valid and current Part 107 certificate,
Valid Drivers license and clean DMV report,
The ability to pass a background security clearance check is a strong asset,
U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3),.
100 documented UAS flight hours acting in RPIC role with a strong preference for a minimum of 50 hours conducting power infrastructure image capture,
Working knowledge of photography and the ability to detect and correct quality issues on the fly,
Experience with DJI systems such as Mavic 3E, M30(T), M300, M350,
Highly computer literate with knowledge of MS 365, G-Suite, Adobe PDF, and browser-based data transfer methods such as FTP sites,
Experience dealing with logistical challenges when working abroad.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this position successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
Due to scheduling demands, must be able to work weekends as needed
Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and traverse uneven ground and varying terrain (Frequently)
This position is field-oriented, with 90% travel and frequent relocations.
Required to sit, stand, and drive for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a drone controller, computer keyboard and telephone (frequently).
