As the voice of Pittsburgh for over 102 years, 100.1 FM and AM 1020, KDKA is in need of a part-time talk show host. You should be a great storyteller with an engaging personality, someone possessing unique, dynamic thoughts & opinions about local news and current events who possesses great range as an interviewer, and the ability to be a Good Neighbor for/in the community. Can you be curious, entertaining, AND informative? News and information have long been part of the tradition on this legacy platform, but we also want a strong digital presence to help appeal to the next generation of listeners.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform live broadcasts that are entertaining and informative.</li>\n <li>Communicate with producer, Brand Manager and News Director to ensure program goals are continually being met.</li>\n <li>Work with the show producer on content strategies, story angles, guest ideas and engagement.</li>\n <li>Interact with the audience on social media daily.</li>\n <li>Maintain strong contacts and relationships with a variety of types of community leaders.</li>\n <li>Create daily content for website and social media channels.</li>\n <li>Prepare and research for broadcasts.</li>\n <li>Protect the station’s FCC license.</li>\n <li>Ensure that contests and promotional announcements are executed properly.</li>\n <li>Cross-promotion of other station shows both on air and via social media.</li>\n <li>Occasionally make personal appearances at station events and remote broadcasts.</li>\n <li>Other duties as required by management.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>More About You:</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Required & Preferred:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Be a great teammate (work well collaborating with others).</li>\n <li>Must be an excellent communicator with strong creative skills.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of the format and audience.</li>\n <li>Understanding of FCC guidelines.</li>\n <li>Connections and familiarity with Western Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh and the station.</li>\n <li>Excellent On-air voice with demonstrated track record required.</li>\n <li>Connections and familiarity with Western Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh and the station.</li>\n <li>Employees of Audacy are required to be a minimum of 21 years of age to operate any vehicle, including Company-owned, leased, rented, or personal vehicles, when such operation is conducted on behalf of Audacy. Driving is an essential function of this role. </li>\n <li>A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
