    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>This is a full-time position for an Ultrasonographer in Maternal Fetal Medicine within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The role is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasonography at a skilled technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position will require travel to all office locations, including contracted sites.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Patient Care and Job Knowledge - 70%</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Research and interpretation of patient’s medical history in relation to the examination.</li>\n <li>Set up ultrasound machine, determine the proper patient positioning and transducer selection to achieve accurate results.</li>\n <li>Perform ultrasound by documenting anatomy, saving appropriate images and charting information for diagnostic interpretation of physician.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of AIUM ultrasound protocols and departmental ultrasound protocols</li>\n <li>Provide excellent patient care</li>\n <li>Counsel patients before and after the ultrasound regarding the procedure, the results, and the implication of the results of the pregnancy.</li>\n <li>Assist physicians with invasive procedures.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Medical Records Management and Communication – 20%</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Obtain appropriate medical history from the patient</li>\n <li>Prepare detailed ultrasound report for the physician to review and sign</li>\n <li>Clearly communicate all ultrasound findings and clinical relevant history to the physician</li>\n <li>Submit appropriate billing for the ultrasound examination</li>\n <li>Review EMR to ensure appropriate follow up appointments are scheduled</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Organizational Responsibilities – 10%</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Use good time management to complete assigned tasks</li>\n <li>Maintain ARDMS CME credits</li>\n <li>Attend ultrasound conferences, monthly education, meetings</li>\n <li>Obtain case studies for AIUM accreditation</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications and Skills:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography; or successful completion of a Radiological Technology program (or closely related field) and successful completion of a Medical Sonography program.</li>\n <li>Must be ARRT eligible. Must be ARDMS certified; or must become certified within the first six months of employment.</li>\n <li>Completion of BLS CPR course required with recertification every 2 years.</li>\n <li>Customer service oriented individual required.</li>\n <li>Ability to travel to multiple locations required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Student applicants within three (3) months of graduation/program completion will be considered. Student applicants must meet the minimum requirements of the position as a condition of employment.</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine or Obstetrics and Gynecology preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Location : Location</h2>US-VA-Norfolk",
