    "description": "<h2>Description</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Performing installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment for the generation, distribution or utilization of electric energy (lighting, generators, transformers, switchboards, motor controllers, circuit breakers, 440v/460hz power load centers, ABT/MBT’s, Power Panels, heating units, and conduit systems)</li>\n <li>Working from blueprints or Ships Installation drawings (SIDs) to install/troubleshoot electrical systems</li>\n <li>Working from computations of working standards relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment</li>\n <li>Following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications</li>\n <li>Using hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment</li>\n <li>Planning layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on applicable specifications and standards</li>\n <li>Connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, MBT/ABT’s, power panels, and shipboard electrical load centers, or other electrical components</li>\n <li>Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devises, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system</li>\n <li>Using a variety of tools or equipment such as measuring devices, and testing equipment such as ammeters, voltmeters, or test lamps</li>\n <li>Inspecting electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, to ensure compliance with standards</li>\n <li>Preparing sketches or following blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to safety codes</li>\n <li>Working from ladders or scaffolds to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures</li>\n <li>Planning the layout of wiring, and installing wiring, conduit, and electrical components onboard Navy vessels IAW wiring diagrams</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>#LI-JC1</em></p>\n<h2>Requirements</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or GED and four+ years work-related experience</li>\n <li>Electrical experience as a Navy Electrician’s Mate (appropriate A/C schools) or within various marine fields</li>\n <li>Must pass employer performance tests and IAW standard governmental agencies certifications</li>\n <li>Must maintain Association of Boards of Certifications (ABC), International Maritime Certification Institute (IMCI), or American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) certification; or have completed the equivalent Maritime Apprenticeship Training in the shipboard electrical field and have held the applicable certifications</li>\n <li>Must be able to read Ship’s Installation Drawings (SIDs) and work from standard and metric specifications</li>\n <li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance</li>\n <li>Must be able to apply the craft, vocational or administrative skills, and methods taught in specialized training and or learned through formal apprenticeships; other important skills include manual skills</li>\n <li>May be required to hold electrician's license</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Desired Skills</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Desired certifications:\n  <ul>\n   <li>NFPA Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP)</li>\n   <li>National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E</li>\n   <li>NFPA Certified Electrical Safety Technician (CEST)</li>\n   <li>OSHA 10 and OSHA 30</li>\n   <li>Formal apprenticeships</li>\n   <li>American Red Cross CPR</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Clearance Information</h2>\n<p><strong>SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY FOR A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL</strong></p>\n<h2>Travel Requirements</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>None</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>About Us</h2>\n<p>Scientific Research Corporation is an advanced information technology and engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions.
