Description

Recognized as the No. 1 site trusted by real estate professionals, Realtor.com® has been at the forefront of online real estate for over 25 years, connecting buyers, sellers, and renters with trusted insights and expert guidance to find their perfect home. Through its robust suite of tools, Realtor.com® not only makes a significant impact on the real estate industry at large, but for consumers, navigating the biggest purchase they will make in their life, by providing a user experience that is easy to use, easy to understand, and most of all, easy to make decisions. Join us on our mission to empower more people to find their way home by breaking barriers to entry, making the right connections, and building confidence through expert guidance. A Senior Product Designer plays an integral role in the performance and operation of a product squad at Avail. You will partner directly with your Product Manager and engineers from start to finish: initial research and understanding of user problems, scoping, creation of user journeys, and polished pixels shipped to the landlords and renters who use Avail every day. Senior Product Designers should be comfortable performing most duties throughout the full design process of a product or feature their squad is shipping. You will have stronger skills in some areas than others (stronger visual chops than research prowess, for example), and that's fine. What matters is that you want to keep learning. You will need to work closely with your Product Manager and engineers to provide quick, iterative design solutions through the full product lifecycle, from ideation and just enough research to polished pixels. You will be the primary designer on your squad. Senior design resources will be assigned as mentors to help you grow, collaborate with you, and push your craft forward. Avail is a SaaS platform built for independent landlords managing 1 to 10 units and their renters. We offer a full-service product suite covering listings, tenant screening, leasing, rent collection, and maintenance, with corollary products serving the renter side of the marketplace. You will be designing for both sides of the landlord-renter relationship, balancing distinct needs within a connected experience. This role is embedded on a cross-functional product squad alongside engineers and a Product Manager. You are peers, not a support function. You will bring a design perspective to squad rituals, planning, and problem-solving from day one, not just execute on specs handed to you. The squad discovers, defines, and delivers solutions together, and you will have real ownership over the design direction for your area of the product. What you'll do: Partner with your Product Manager and engineers to be the voice of the user, exploring multiple ideas while knowing when to bring the work to an executable deliverable Collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders, including researchers, product leaders, engineers, product marketing, brand, and other designers, on complex problems Quickly collaborate on solutions that materially improve the user experience across the products your squad supports Lead most aspects of the design process from conception to completion, with the oversight and assistance of senior design leaders Articulate the value of design and the reasons for your design decisions clearly to design leaders, peers, and your product squad Regularly seek out and receive design feedback with professionalism and patience. Demonstrate improvements in your craft based on feedback received Use our design system and ensure accurate, quality application of components to your products, while also identifying needs for new patterns Be willing to temporarily help other product squads with design needs when the need arises Set goals with your manager and pursue learning opportunities and areas of professional interest Need to Have: AI-Driven Design Workflows We are interested in designers who are already using AI as part of their process. That could mean using LLM-assisted tools to speed up research synthesis, generating and stress-testing UI concepts more quickly, or working with prototype-driven iteration, where rough, working prototypes replace static specs as the primary artifact for alignment and testing. If you have a point of view on how AI fits into your design workflow, we want to hear about it. What you'll bring: 8+ years working in the design industry Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 3+ years working in a product-led organization Portfolio that demonstrates a growing design point of view and includes examples of interaction flows, prototyping, and high-fidelity work Familiar with user-centric processes and design thinking principles Experience working on cross-disciplined teams Clear communication skills Informed and strong opinions, loosely held Exemplifies a We, Not Me attitude How We Work: We balance creativity and innovation on a foundation of in-person collaboration. For most roles, our employees work three or more days in our offices, where they have the opportunity to collaborate in-person, adding richness to our culture and knitting us closer together.
