This position serves as a staff engineer performing engineering assignment of intermediate complexity.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Under direct supervision of the Discipline Lead Engineer or Area Lead Engineer, analyze and make independent recommendations regarding technical solutions to problems of intermediate complexity in accordance with project requirements;</li>\n <li>Develop and review specifications and design criteria;</li>\n <li>Perform and check engineering analyses and calculations; specify materials, equipment and systems; and solve technical problems of intermediate complexity;</li>\n <li>Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors and clients;</li>\n <li>Execute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan and procedures;</li>\n <li>Execute work in accordance with the approved project scope, cost, and schedule baselines;</li>\n <li>Establish, control, and report on material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts;</li>\n <li>Provide technical support to activities associated with equipment and material procurement and subcontracting including scopes of work, technical bid evaluations, and review of vendor submittals;</li>\n <li>Provide technical support to activities associated with construction administration including response to construction requests-for-information and field changes; </li>\n <li>Create and modify electrical design drawings (e.g., single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagram layouts, raceway, lighting, and grounding). </li>\n <li>Perform complex system studies (e.g., short circuit, load flow, stability, motor starting, harmonics, relay coordination and ground grid. </li>\n <li>Develop area classifications and design documents.</li>\n <li>Develop electrical design documents.</li>\n <li>Perform electrical calculations such as short circuit, relay coordination, voltage drop, cable de-rating, and cable pulling tension.</li>\n <li>Prepare motor schematics and wiring diagrams; and</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education and Licensure</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. (required)</li>\n <li>Professional registration (i.e., P.E.). (preferred)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills, Experience and Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>At least 5 (5-10 preferred) years of related work experience for Electrical Design Engineer. (required)</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes (including DOE orders).</li>\n <li>Experience providing EPC services on large industrial projects.</li>\n <li>3D modeling and 2D CADD experience.</li>\n <li>Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship. </li>\n <li>Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance.</li>\n <li>Successful candidates will be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
