Comprised of dedicated people and decades of manufacturing experience, we have continued to experience strong growth and currently have outstanding career opportunities for equally dedicated people.</p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Job Summary:&nbsp;</strong> The Metrologist will ensure reliability of products and processes using precision measurement and physical quality comparison to customer specifications. &nbsp;</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Perform mechanical First Article Inspections as required.</li><li>Perform Capability Analysis and GR&amp;R&rsquo;s ensuring highest quality of product to customers.</li><li>Able to operate CMM/VMM inspection equipment</li><li>Perform calibration on measurement and testing aid equipment under minimal supervision.</li><li>Able to determine if measuring and testing equipment meets tolerance specifications.</li><li>Identify out of tolerance conditions to meet specifications.</li><li>Perform tests and measurements as necessary for analysis and problem resolution.</li><li>Responsible for the accuracy and communication of results/findings.</li></ul><p><strong>Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare First Article inspection reports and Process studies.</li><li>Diagnose and repair measurement testing aid equipment.</li><li>Communicate inspection requirements to manufacturing team ensuring parts are produced to inspection requirements.</li><li>May provide support to In Process Inspectors when measurement concerns arise.</li><li>May program CMM and VMM systems.</li><li>Fosters safe practices, follows PPE, has good understanding of SDS system.</li><li>Performs other duties as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent required and a minimum two years of experience in the quality field.</li><li>GD&amp;T, blue print reading and capabilities studies experience.</li><li>Demonstrated ability in using quality equipment and measurement tools.</li><li>Strong attention to detail.</li><li>Working knowledge of Minitab, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Desirable Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Quality related courses and/or A.S.Q.C. certified mechanical inspector.</li><li>Previous Metrology or First Article experience.</li><li>Experience within the medical device industry.</li><li>Previous experience with lean manufacturing concepts.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>ADA Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently</li><li>Occasional repetitive motion and grasping</li><li>Occasional climbing to reach areas on machines or racks</li><li>Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, &gt;20 lbs. frequently</li><li>Typically sits, grasps items or performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer</li><li>Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p data-pasted=\"true\">&nbsp;<strong>What SMC has to offer?</strong></p><ul><li>Clean, Climate-Controlled Environment</li><li>Stable schedule&nbsp;</li><li>Paid holiday and PTO</li><li>Health, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>401(k) retirement savings</li><li>Life and disability insurance</li><li>Promotional opportunities</li><li>Training and career growth programs</li><li>Amazing co-workers</li><li>Tuition reimbursement</li><li>Employee Assistance Program</li></ul><p><em>At SMC Ltd. we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job. &nbsp;If your experience is close to what you see listed here, please still consider applying. &nbsp;We know that our differences often can bring about innovation, excellence and meaningful work&mdash;therefore, people from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply to our positions. &nbsp;Please let us know if you require reasonable accommodations during the interview process.&nbsp;</em></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>SMC Ltd. is an equal opportunity employer.
