Our FSD’s are responsible for providing professional customer-focused security and life safety services for the people and the property they protect and the staff that they may lead. </p>\n<h2>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>A true Leader position</li>\n <li>Maintain a professional demeanor while leading staff and aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests</li>\n <li>Maintain a visible presence in the facility / building assigned</li>\n <li>Monitor the environment, with the ability to detect suspicious and unsafe activity</li>\n <li>Responsible for becoming familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic, know the customers, tenants, visitors, and guests</li>\n <li>Answer all phones in a professional manner and demonstrate ability to perform clear and audible announcements</li>\n <li>Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits</li>\n <li>Know the facility / building policies and procedures, and enforce them within the limits of the position</li>\n <li>Follow established emergency action planning, procedures, fire protection, and safety standards</li>\n <li>Monitor alarms and systems as required</li>\n <li>May perform operations related functions to include; scheduling, overtime management, review of daily logs and incident reports, training and development of staff, as required</li>\n <li>Test and inspect fire extinguishers and other fire protections devices to ensure compliance to fire and safety standards</li>\n <li>Discusses violations and unsafe conditions with site representative</li>\n <li>Prepares reports, such as inspections performed, standards violations, and recommendations for eliminating fire hazards</li>\n <li>Maintains records and logs, as required by law</li>\n <li>Maybe called upon to perform fire-fighting duties during emergencies</li>\n <li>May train others in fire emergency response plans</li>\n <li>Assists in fire drills, as required </li>\n <li>May perform other inspections, and safety duties as required</li>\n <li>May perform additional security services functions, as permitted under any required Security Officer license and as specified for the assigned site(s), in addition to Fire Inspector duties</li>\n <li>The essential duties and responsibilities may differ by customer location assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Knowledge and Skill Requirements</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>State or municipality mandated security officer licenses</li>\n <li>Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent</li>\n <li>Must have Fire Safety Directors license</li>\n <li>Knowledge of or ability to learn fire inspection operations, and procedures</li>\n <li>Must have reliable means of communication and transportation</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal communication skills</li>\n <li>Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period</li>\n <li>Previous contract security, law enforcement, fire department, military, customer service experience preferred</li>\n <li>Good organizations skills</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal communication skills</li>\n <li>Write routine detailed correspondence, to include log entries, incident and reporting</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a fast paced, customer service environment</li>\n <li>Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize and problem solve</li>\n <li>Good computer skills including Microsoft Office</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Compensation</h2>\n<p>Harvard Protection Services offers a competitive hourly pay rate 25.00 with health & welfare, dental, vision, sick leave, vacation, and 401K enrollment benefit opportunities.</p>\n<p><strong>About Harvard Protection Services: </strong></p>\n<p>Harvard Protection Services maintains true to our long-standing belief, Employees First and Customer Service.
