Are you ready to join a team that dreams as big as you do?</b></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p>The<b> key purpose</b> of this role is to manage and coordinate the Brewing department activities with overall responsibility for people, plant, process, product, quality and management systems in order to deliver compliance to the International Breweries and global brewing standards in the most efficient, effective, safe and reliable manner.</p><p><br /><b>Key roles and responsibilities:</b><br /><b>Occupational Health, Safety and Risk</b></p><ul><li>Ensure that Brewery quality and taste targets are met.</li><li>Ensure overall reliability of production.</li><li>Process optimisation and asset management and plant availability.</li><li>Adherence to SAB Ltd and global brewing quality standards.</li></ul><p><br /><b>Brewing Strategy &amp; Implementation</b></p><ul><li>Translate and implement brewing strategies within the framework of the manufacturing and business strategies.</li><li>Ensure disciplined execution of standard work practices at the regional brewery level</li><li>Ensure that brand and brewing process standards are met.</li><li>Ensure that brewing technical and brand audits are conducted as per the QA audit schedule – and deviations identified and managed through the non-conformance management process.</li><li>Tasting</li><li>World class manufacturing GEM adherence and regional brewing best practice development as per the SABMiller manufacturing way</li><li>Adherence to the Brewing and IBMS technical and business audit schedule</li></ul><p><br /><b>People Management</b></p><ul><li>Facilitate team problem solving and decision making.</li><li>Manage people in alignment with Global Leadership Behaviours, the SABMiller values and the ‘Our People</li><li>Lead the development of brewing team goals and ensure these are communicated and understood by team members</li><li>Conduct regular brewing team goal review sessions, and conduct regular one-on-one and performance reviews</li><li>Ensure training need analyses are conducted and training plans developed for team members</li><li>Ensure appropriate competencies are developed in the team, and ensure cross skilling occurs within the engineering team</li><li>Provide coaching and mentorship to brewing levels 1, 2, 3</li><li>Brewing Managers are responsible for managing technical trainees, providing guidance, supervising development and actively participating in trainee checkouts</li><li>Ongoing optimisation of brewing quality and production processes</li><li>Analyses plant performance data to identify opportunities for improvement to plant performance and initiates opportunity evaluation</li><li>Analyses plant failure modes and investigate causes for repeat failures to correct root causes</li><li>Ensures that continuous improvement is built into brewing team goals and forms part of re gular goal review sessions</li><li>Manage financial performance (prepare and manage budgets) and monthly financial Short Interval Control</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Key attributes and competencies:</b></p><ul><li>Demonstrated experience in driving commercial decisions in a brewery (financial, operational, people)</li><li>A superior performance track record indicating a disciplined work ethic with passion at maintaining quality</li><li>Solid understand of performance management principles – i.e. Our People Way</li><li>Good working knowledge of all SAP modules and NOSA Safety Standards and requirements</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Minimum requirements: </b></p><ul><li>BSc Degree in Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is required</li><li>Brewing qualification – IBD Brewing Diploma is a minimum requirement</li><li>SAB Ltd Brewing Traineeship (or SABMiller certified equivalent) is a further minimum requirement</li><li>At least 8 – 10 year&#39;s production experience, of which 5 years’ operating at a management level within Brewing</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Additional information:</b></p><ul><li><b>Band: V</b></li></ul><p>AB InBev is an equal opportunity employer, and all appointments will be made in-line with AB InBev employment equity plan and talent requirements.
