This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a clinical leadership role while maintaining a meaningful presence in patient care, education, and program development.</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em><strong>Position Overview</strong></em></p>\n<p><em>As Medical Director, you will provide clinical and operational leadership for the pediatric hospitalist program while collaborating with hospital administration, nursing leadership, and subspecialty partners. This role blends direct patient care with physician leadership responsibilities, offering the chance to shape and grow a high-quality pediatric service line.</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em><strong>Clinical Responsibilities</strong></em></p>\n<ul>\n <li><em>Provide care on a 17-bed pediatric floor and in the newborn nursery supporting approximately 2400 annual deliverie</em>\n  <ul>\n   <li><em>Pediatric Floor ADC: 5</em></li>\n   <li><em>Newborn Nursery ADC: 15</em></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><em><strong>Daytime support from Advanced Practice Providers</strong></em></li>\n <li><em><strong>Block scheduling</strong> for optimal work-life balance</em></li>\n <li><em><strong>Daytime rounding</strong> and <strong>out-of-house call</strong> (30-minute response time)</em></li>\n <li><em>Collaborate with a network of <strong>pediatric subspecialists</strong> available both onsite and via telehealth through:</em>\n  <ul>\n   <li><em>University of Virginia</em></li>\n   <li><em>INOVA</em></li>\n   <li><em>Children’s National</em></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><em>Opportunity to teach and mentor Family Medicine Residents</em></li>\n <li><em>Partner with Pediatrix NICU providers to ensure continuity of care across services</em></li>\n</ul>\n<p><em><strong>Medical Director Responsibilities</strong></em></p>\n<ul>\n <li><em>Provide strategic and operational oversight of the pediatric hospitalist program</em></li>\n <li><em>Lead quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and clinical standardization</em></li>\n <li><em>Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of hospitalist and advanced practice providers</em></li>\n <li><em>Collaborate with hospital leadership on program growth, performance metrics, and service line development</em></li>\n <li><em>Foster a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and patient centered care</em></li>\n <li><em>Serve as a key liaison between Pediatrix and Winchester Medical Center leadership</em></li>\n</ul>\n<p><em><strong>Live & Work in Winchester, VA</strong></em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Winchester Medical Center, part of Valley Health System, is consistently ranked among Virginia’s top hospitals.
