Description

Since 2008, we've been driving the adoption of renewable energy through innovative projects and forward-thinking solutions. From powering remote communities with wind and solar microgrids to lighting the Eiffel Tower with 100% renewable energy, our journey has been rooted in impact. Today, we focus on building a growing portfolio of solar and battery storage assets across the U.S., backed by NOVA Infrastructure and supported by over a decade of experience across 500+ megawatts of clean energy projects. Join us as we continue to lead the transition to a sustainable future. The Senior Associate, Project Finance will play a central role in the structuring, analysis, and execution of complex financing transactions for the Company’s renewable energy assets across development and construction stages. This role is distinguished by meaningful prior transaction execution experience and the ability to take ownership of key workstreams across the full deal lifecycle. In this position, the successful candidate will lead financial modeling efforts, develop and refine capital structures, and actively manage transaction processes. Working closely with senior leadership and external financing partners, this individual will drive execution from initial structuring through closing, while mentoring junior team members and serving as a key contributor in capital markets activities. This role is ideal for a finance professional with a strong foundation in project finance who has directly participated in and helped execute transactions and is ready to take on greater responsibility in a fast-paced, deal-oriented environment. This is an on-site role requiring five days per week in the office. Candidates must be based in New York or Denver, or be willing to relocate as required. Applicants with experience in the solar industry are highly preferred. Duties and Key Responsibilities: Capital Structure & Financial Analysis Lead the development, enhancement, and auditing of complex project-level and portfolio-level financial models. Design and evaluate optimal capital structures across senior debt, tax equity, mezzanine, HoldCo facilities, and equipment financing. Run advanced scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess impacts of pricing, leverage, execution timing, and structural terms. Lead debt sizing, sculpting, draw mechanisms, DSCR and covenant analysis, and refinancing/term-out strategies. Independently identify key value drivers, risks, and sensitivities, and present recommendations to senior leadership. Transaction Support & Execution Take ownership of key transaction workstreams across multiple concurrent financings from structuring through closing. Lead preparation of marketing materials, CIMs, lender presentations, and investor communications. Actively manage capital markets processes, including coordinating diligence, leading Q&A workstreams, and interfacing directly with lenders, tax equity investors, and counterparties. Drive transaction timelines, manage deliverables, and ensure execution milestones are met. Coordinate closely with legal counsel, lenders, investors, and third-party advisors to negotiate and finalize documentation. Leverage prior transaction experience to anticipate execution risks and proactively solve issues during the deal process. Cross-Functional Leadership Partner with development, EPC, and asset management teams to validate assumptions, schedules, and budgets impacting financings. Collaborate with portfolio management to align financing strategy with project milestones and capital deployment plans. Translate complex financial analyses into clear, decision-oriented materials for internal stakeholders and investment committees. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts on modeling, diligence, and execution processes. Facility Management & Portfolio Oversight Support oversight of active financing facilities, including compliance tracking, draw approvals, and reporting requirements. Maintain well-organized data rooms and ensure completeness and accuracy of transaction documentation. Monitor post-closing obligations, amendments, refinancings, and ongoing capital structure optimization opportunities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline required. Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, Master’s in Finance, Energy Systems, or related field) a plus. 4-6 years of experience in renewable energy project finance, investment banking, private equity, or infrastructure finance. Demonstrated experience supporting and executing closed transactions (debt, tax equity, or structured finance), with clear involvement in deal processes. Advanced financial modeling capabilities, with the ability to independently build, audit, and adapt complex project finance models. Strong understanding of renewable energy financing structures, including debt, tax equity, and hybrid capital solutions. Proven ability to own workstreams and manage multiple active transactions simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment. Strong commercial judgment and problem-solving skills, particularly in live deal environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including direct interaction with senior stakeholders and external counterparties. Highly detail-oriented, organized, and execution-focused. Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to operate with increased autonomy. Collaborative, humble, and accountable team player with demonstrated leadership potential. Why You’ll Love Working With Us Competitive and thoughtfully structured compensation package, including a strong base salary that reflects your experience and the impact you bring to the role. Fully paid Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage, your health and peace of mind come first. 401(k) with employer match, helping you grow your financial future. Generous PTO including 19 days of Vacation/Sick time so you can unplug, recharge, and take care of what matters most. Join a smart, collaborative, mission‑driven team that’s actively accelerating the transition to a clean‑energy future and making a real impact on the health of our planet. Compensation & Equal Opportunity Statement Compensation will be based on experience, education, and other relevant factors. We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply. UGE is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
