The role ensures full compliance with NCAA, conference and university regulations and safety standards, while delivering exceptional operational support for practices, competitions, and team travel.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Assistant Athletic Director supervises full-time staff, interns, and student employees, manages departmental budgets, and cultivates strong vendor partnerships, including major athletic brands such as Nike and BSN.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and travel. The role operates in a fast-paced, team-oriented athletic environment and demands a high level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to student-athlete welfare.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Strategic Management & Purchasing - 20%</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage the ordering, distribution, and inventory control of equipment and apparel for all assigned varsity sports.</li>\n <li>Oversee long-term equipment planning, replacement cycles, and asset management.</li>\n <li>Ensure timely procurement aligned with budgetary and seasonal needs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Safety & Compliance - 10%</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure all protective equipment is properly fitted, maintained, and reconditioned according to NCAA standards.</li>\n <li>Maintain accurate records of safety certifications, inspections, and compliance documentation.</li>\n <li>Implement best practices for risk mitigation and athlete safety.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Logistics & Operations - 10%</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Coordinate and direct equipment operations for home and away competitions.</li>\n <li>Manage packing, transportation, and setup of equipment for practices, games, and special events.</li>\n <li>Oversee laundry services and daily equipment room operations.</li>\n <li>Travel with assigned teams as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Budgeting & Financial Oversight - 25%</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop, monitor, and reconcile equipment budgets.</li>\n <li>Track expenditures and ensure cost-effective purchasing practices.</li>\n <li>Provide financial reports and projections to athletic administration.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Supervision & Leadership - 35%</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate full-time staff, graduate assistants, interns, and student employees.</li>\n <li>Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and service within the equipment room.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with coaches, athletic trainers, compliance staff, business office and administrators.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sports management, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in collegiate athletic equipment management at a Division I institution OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.</p></li>\n <li><p>Certification through the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) required.</p></li>\n <li><p>Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and travel.</p><p> </p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Five (5) years of experience in collegiate athletic equipment management at a Division I institution.</p><p> </p></li>\n <li><p>Supervisory experience.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Strong organizational and inventory management skills.</p></li>\n <li><p>Technical expertise in fitting, repair, and maintenance of specialized athletic equipment.</p></li>\n <li><p>Knowledge of NCAA rules and safety compliance standards.</p></li>\n <li><p>Excellent communication and leadership abilities.</p><p> </p></li>\n <li><p>Proficiency in equipment management software and inventory systems.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Documents</h2>\n<p>Along with the online application, please attach:</p>\n<li>Resume/CV to be uploaded at the beginning of your application in the Candidate Profile under “Resume/CV\"</li>\n<li>Cover letter to be typed/pasted at the end of your application</li>\n<li>Name and contact information for 3 professional references to be entered into Candidate Profile</li>\n<p> </p>\n<p>**Document size may not exceed 10 MB.**</p>\n<h2>Advertised Salary</h2>Commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits.\n<h2>ADA</h2>\n<p>This position requires moderate physical activity.
