If you’re searching for something more than just a job, something akin to a calling, then consider the challenge and opportunity of being a member of Johnson County Government!</p>\n<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p>Johnson County Health & Environment department is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of a Public Health Nurse (RN). <strong>The Public Health Nurse in this role will help to provide family planning services, prenatal care, STD testing & treatment, as well as assist in specialty clinics.</strong> The position is located at 11875 S Sunset Drive, Suite 300, Olathe, KS 66061. This position provides excellent benefits, including health insurance, wellness programs and discounts, retirement programs, and various other discount programs.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This position will remain open until filled.</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides comprehensive nursing services; assesses the holistic needs of individuals by incorporating family and environmental factors; collects and documents patient health history; measures and records vital signs; completes health assessments and performs limited exams; obtains, processes, and handles lab specimens; manages, controls and implements medication administration programs; performs minor procedures and treatments within designated area of specialty.</li>\n <li>Completes and submits documentation regarding patient care and condition; reviews quality and effectiveness of services provided and documented by other service providers.</li>\n <li>Provides patients and families with supportive resources; educates patients in areas impacting health, wellness, and daily living activities; develops and provides specialized health training and education to staff.</li>\n <li>Provides case management, care coordination, referral and follow-up to individuals and/or families; evaluates outcomes, effectiveness of plans, and makes changes as necessary.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Job Requirements</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Minimum Job Requirements:</u></strong></p>\n<p>High school or equivalent and a Vocational, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or other Nursing program that meets the requirements for the Registered Nurse license are required.  Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Kansas is required. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is also required.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions.  Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency. </em></strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>Preferred Job Requirements:</u></strong></p>\n<p>One year of nursing experience is preferred.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Excessive standing and/or walking: 40%.</p>\n<p>Lifting: varies by assignment.</p>\n<p>Exposure to hazardous materials (bodily fluids).</p>\n<p>Within sixty (60) days of hire, employees (select DHE and EMS positions) must produce proof of immunization, proof of immunity, proof that immunization is medically contraindicated, submit a written objection to immunization based upon a sincerely held religious belief, or receive vaccination for the following:  Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR); Tetanus Diphtheria and Acellular Pertussis (TDAP); and Varicella (Chickenpox).</p>\n<p>All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.</p>",
