With operations spanning tourism, hospitality, logistics, and remote operations, Arctic Kingdom is committed to responsible and sustainable northern development while creating meaningful economic opportunities in the communities where we operate.</p>\n<p>Through operations such as the Torngat Mountains Basecamp and Research Station, Hebron Historic Site, and Blachford Lodge, Arctic Kingdom supports unique guest, research, and cultural experiences in some of the most remote and extraordinary environments in Canada.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">About the Role</span></p>\n<p><span>Arctic Kingdom is seeking a hands-on Finance Director to lead the company’s financial operations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls across its tourism, lodge, expedition, and operational divisions.</span></p>\n<p><span>The Finance Director will play a key leadership role in driving operational efficiency, cash flow management, risk management, internal controls and long-term financial sustainability in a unique Arctic operating environment. This role requires a strong combination of technical accounting expertise, operational finance experience, leadership capability, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and entrepreneurial setting.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Do:</span><br><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Accounting and Financial Reporting</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Prepare the books for audit and consolidation.</span></li>\n<li><span>Coordinate annual audits and work with external auditors.</span></li>\n<li><span>Implement strong internal controls and policies.</span></li>\n<li><span>Oversee full-cycle accounting operations and lead the month-end and year-end close process.</span></li>\n<li><span>Generate monthly financial statements and analysis.</span></li>\n<li><span>Report monthly financial results to senior leadership, provide variance analysis and insights on risks and opportunities.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>ERP and Systems Implementation</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and optimization of enterprise resource planning (ERP) and financial management systems. </span></li>\n<li><span>Act as the primary business lead for ERP implementation projects, coordinating with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and software vendors. </span></li>\n<li><span>Analyze current financial and operational workflows to identify process improvement opportunities and system requirements. </span></li>\n<li><span>Oversee data migration, chart of accounts design, system configuration, testing, and user acceptance processes. </span></li>\n<li><span>Develop standardized financial processes, controls, and reporting structures across departments and operational entities. </span></li>\n<li><span>Ensure ERP systems support multi-entity operations, inventory management, project tracking, procurement, payroll integration, and operational reporting needs. </span></li>\n<li><span>Establish reporting dashboards and KPIs to improve operational visibility and decision-making. </span></li>\n<li><span>Lead change management initiatives, including staff training, documentation, and adoption of new systems and workflows. </span></li>\n<li><span>Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance within financial systems. </span></li>\n<li><span>Continuously evaluate and improve financial technologies, automation opportunities, and reporting capabilities.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Risk Management &amp; Governance</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Develop and maintain enterprise risk management frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, regulatory, and strategic risks. </span></li>\n<li><span>Monitor organizational exposure related to cash flow, seasonality, foreign exchange, supply chain disruptions, remote operations, and business continuity. </span></li>\n<li><span>Oversee insurance programs and coordinate policy renewals, claims management, and risk assessments with brokers and insurers. </span></li>\n<li><span>Ensure compliance with applicable financial, tax, employment, and regulatory requirements across all operating jurisdictions. </span></li>\n<li><span>Establish and maintain internal controls, financial policies, delegation authorities, and approval processes to safeguard company assets. </span></li>\n<li><span>Lead financial risk analysis related to capital investments, partnerships, contracts, and expansion initiatives. </span></li>\n<li><span>Support development and implementation of crisis management, contingency planning, and operational continuity procedures. </span></li>\n<li><span>Work closely with operational leadership to evaluate safety, contractual, reputational, and operational risks associated with Arctic tourism and expedition activities. </span></li>\n<li><span>Provide regular risk reporting and recommendations to senior leadership. </span></li>\n<li><span>Promote a culture of accountability, compliance, ethical conduct, and proactive risk awareness across the organization.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Leadership &amp; Team Development</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Lead finance managers/financial business partners</span></li>\n<li><span>Establish efficient workflows and accountability systems. </span></li>\n<li><span>Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, marketing HR, and logistics teams. </span></li>\n<li><span>Foster a culture of professionalism, accuracy, and continuous improvement.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Additional Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Support senior leadership with strategic planning, operational analysis, and special projects. </span></li>\n<li><span>Participate in senior management meetings and contribute to organizational decision-making. </span></li>\n<li><span>Develop and maintain financial and operational policies, procedures, and best practices. </span></li>\n<li><span>Negotiate and manage relationships with banks, lenders, insurers, vendors, and external service providers. </span></li>\n<li><span>Support contract review and financial evaluation of major supplier, partner, and customer agreements. </span></li>\n<li><span>Assist with grant applications, government reporting, and funding compliance where applicable. </span></li>\n<li><span>Oversee corporate filings, licensing requirements, and annual compliance obligations. </span></li>\n<li><span>Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, automation, and scalability. </span></li>\n<li><span>Support mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, or new business initiatives as required. </span></li>\n<li><span>Ensure proper records management, document retention, and financial documentation practices. </span></li>\n<li><span>Collaborate with Human Resources on compensation planning, workforce budgeting, and payroll governance. </span></li>\n<li><span>Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to finance team members</span></li>\n<li><span>Perform other related duties consistent with the scope and seniority of the role.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">What You Bring:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>CPA designation required. </span></li>\n<li><span>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. </span></li>\n<li><span>10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience. </span></li>\n<li><span>Experience in tourism, hospitality, aviation, logistics, remote operations, or seasonal businesses considered a strong asset. </span></li>\n<li><span>Experience managing full accounting cycle and audits</span></li>\n<li><span>Quickbooks knowledge</span></li>\n<li><span>ERP implementation experience</span></li>\n<li><span>Risk management experience, specifically business insurance</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;
