Description

TITLE: Machine Operator SAFETY DUTIES: Wear proper personal protective equipment such as earplugs, gloves, safety eyeglasses and smock. Keep hand away from moving parts. Use proper lifting techniques. Always keep assigned area clean and organized. Use proper lockout/tagout procedures. Report any accidents, unsafe equipment or area to the line leader or supervisor. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MACHINE OPERATOR: The employee will be responsible for operating various poultry processing machinery in accordance with the specifications provided by plant management. Key responsibilities include transporting fresh products from the cooler to the processing machine, as needed. The operator will ensure the correct selection and installation of grinding and processing plates. During machine operation, the employee will use a scoop or fork to feed product into the machine hopper. Additional tasks may include pumping mixtures through a homogenizer to create emulsions and adjusting control valves to regulate viscosity and liquid applications. The operator may also be assigned other duties as required by the department. Responsible for helping to produce safe, legal, and authentic products to the quality expectations of the customer. Supports, implements, and helps maintain and improve all Quality Management programs and procedures. Responsible for implementation, improvement, and enforcement of all programs and procedures related to BRC. SPECIFIC DUTIES: Employee will clock in and gather their supplies at the supply room when they arrive at the facility. Employee will sanitize before gloving and after reporting to the work area. Employee will receive instructions from the line leader or supervisor . PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently. Standing and walking 100% of the time. Reaching and bending frequently. Ability to always work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. ENVIRONMENT: Employee must be able to work in an area of temperatures between 35° - 45°F constantly. Medium noise level (hearing protection required). Floor surfaces are wet and slippery 100% of the time. EDUCATION: High School or GED preferred. M ust be able to understand basic instructions from the lead/supervisor.
