Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP) , is a private, non-profit, social service agency which has been serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County area since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping those living with substance use, mental health disorders, and homelessness. Our mission is to restore hope, health, and wellbeing for individuals and families in a recovery environment that embraces compassion, dignity and respect.
HOURS: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm; Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
SUMMARY
As part of its mission Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. continues its efforts and commitment in providing quality services to its partners, clients, and their communities. RNP has been a leader in placing CRI PSWs in law enforcement agencies in the state. As part of its growing demand to expand the innovative CRI PSW program RNP has a unique opportunity for the right candidate. In this unique position you will work side by side with local law enforcement to address the social issues that affect our communities. In accordance with RNPs Mission Statement, Philosophy of Client Care and Code of Ethics as stated in the Personnel Policies, the CRI/PSW Clinical Social Worker reports to the Program Director and ensures that all the needs of our Law Enforcement Partners and the community they serve are met. This includes providing a professional and timely service that adheres to RNPs mission statement and philosophy of client care. This position will be located out of our Law Enforcement Partners agency.
Location: Bridgeport PD
Hours: Monday-Friday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
CORE FUNCTIONS
Provides support to RNPs Law Enforcement Partners and ensures access to community based behavioral health services for the community they serve and assists in identifying and resolving barriers to care.
Conducts and documents mental health evaluations in the field in collaboration with our Law Enforcement Partners. Works collaboratively with RNPs Law Enforcement Partners when mental health crisis calls arise.
Assess and records medical, psychological, and social factors contributing to the individuals unique circumstances, including an assessment of strengths, needs, abilities and preferences.
Provides information and education to individuals, families and groups concerning substance use disorder and Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT).
Navigates clients through or around transportation, public benefits, childcare, and other barriers to successfully participate in MAT services. Assist in linkage to recovery support activities by removing personal and environmental obstacles.
Refers individuals to appropriate medical, psychiatric, housing and/or behavioral health services utilizing designated collaborating organizations (DCOs) whenever possible to ensure rapid entrance into programs without delay.
Works closely with colleagues and community-based providers to ensure clients and their families receive access to timely, high quality care and services, including follow up to ensure connection. Serves as a client advocate in obtaining necessary services.
Documents all contacts; works collaboratively with the clinical team to assist in identifying and placing clients in the appropriate aftercare services that offers interventions tailored to their diagnoses.
Participates in interdisciplinary continuous quality improvement activities on an ongoing basis; participates in weekly clinical meetings and individual supervision. Maintains detail records of program goals and objectives.
Attends forums and meetings to advance the CRIs services that are provided by RNP.
Adheres to all our Law Enforcement Partners guidelines and policies regarding behavior, staff interactions, boundaries and communicates through the proper chain of command within the respective Law Enforcement agency.
Adheres to all documentation and reporting requirements per RNP and Law Enforcement policy.
Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
Qualifications
CORE COMPETENCIES
Masters degree in the behavioral sciences and/or MSW with LCSW, LMFT preferred. MSW with two (2) years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience while working on LCSW.
Candidates who speak, read and write Spanish fluently are strongly encouraged to apply.
Experience in connecting clients to community services and resources required.
Knowledge of the physical, psychological, social, and economic effects of substance abuse.
Knowledge of mental health issues, homelessness, medical, and trauma.
Knowledge of Opiate Use Disorder and Medically Assisted Treatment.
Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate information pertinent to the provision of quality care.
Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships with excellent communication skills and the ability to project a professional image.
Must be able to pass a background check to obtain clearance to enter Law Enforcement Agencies. This background check is in addition to RNPs required checks.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES
Must possess a valid Drivers License and reliable transportation.
