    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<b>Job Summary</b><br><br>The CT Technologist I is responsible for operating CT equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to established protocols. This role involves preparing and positioning patients, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with radiologists and healthcare team members to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic results. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care are essential for success in this position.<br><br><b>Essential Functions</b><ul><li>Operates CT equipment and processing systems to produce high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring compliance with departmental protocols and standards.</li>\n<li>Prepares and positions patients appropriately for CT procedures, using suitable positioning and immobilization techniques based on patient needs and comfort.</li>\n<li>Ensures accurate patient identification, verifies physician orders, and screens patients for contraindications to the examination.</li>\n<li>Performs point-of-care creatinine testing and calculates GFR when required for contrast studies. Documents results and adheres to contrast administration protocols.</li>\n<li>Administers contrast media as ordered, following safety protocols. Monitors patients for adverse reactions and responds appropriately.</li>\n<li>Explains procedures clearly to patients, addressing questions to alleviate fear and anxiety, and provides instructions during and after the exam.</li>\n<li>Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare team members to ensure accurate, timely, and patient-centered care.</li>\n<li>Assists with interventional CT procedures such as biopsies or drain placements, including sterile field setup and patient support.</li>\n<li>Reviews images for technical accuracy, presents completed studies to the radiologist, and communicates findings to relevant healthcare team members as needed.</li>\n<li>Documents patient clinical history and correlates it with imaging studies to support accurate diagnostic interpretation.</li>\n<li>Maintains and performs regular quality control checks on CT equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly to ensure optimal functionality.</li>\n<li>Responds to emergency situations, including contrast reactions or urgent imaging needs, in accordance with facility protocols.</li>\n<li>Maintains a clean, organized, and fully stocked work area by monitoring supply levels and ensuring CT equipment is ready for use.</li>\n<li>Adheres to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment, and follows all infection control and radiation safety guidelines.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n<li>Maintains regular and reliable attendance.</li>\n<li>Complies with all policies and standards.</li></ul><b>Qualifications</b><ul><li>1-2 years of clinical experience acquired through an accredited radiologic sciences program\t\t\t\t required </li>\n<li>2-4 years of experience as a CT Technologist in an acute care hospital setting preferred </li></ul><b>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</b><ul><li>Proficiency in operating CT equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.</li>\n<li>Ability to ensure patient safety and comfort while adhering to established protocols.</li>\n<li>Skills in preparing and positioning patients accurately for CT scans, including using safety lifts and/or additional personnel for patient transfers.</li>\n<li>Competence in maintaining CT equipment and ensuring its proper functioning.</li>\n<li>Ability to collaborate effectively with radiologists and healthcare team members.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of aseptic, surgical, and radiologic techniques.</li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.</li>\n<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and deliver accurate results under minimal supervision.</li>\n<li>Attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate documentation and image quality.</li></ul><b>Licenses and Certifications</b><ul><li>Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable by state required  </li>\n<li>CT - Computed Tomography certification or eligibility to obtain within six (6) months of hire required  </li>\n<li>BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire required  </li>\n<li>(R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer  preferred  </li></ul>\n",
