    "description": "<p><span>Note: If you are not a current student studying recreation, sports management or a related field you DO NOT qualify for an internship at the Oak Lawn Park District.</span><br><br><span>The Oak Lawn Park District is seeking qualified students interested in an internship in the field of Recreation, Sports Management or a related field. Candidates will currently be attending college or be a recent graduate with a major in recreation, outdoor recreation or related field.</span><br><br><span>Candidates must be responsible, motivated, should have the ability to manage time effectively and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates should possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under the supervision of the administrative staff. The student will assist with the administration, supervision, and leadership of specified recreation and leisure activities of the internship. The duration of the internship is 12-16 weeks, but will ultimately be determined by the intern's school requirements. It is the student's responsibility to verify with their professors if the internship qualifies for college credit. Candidates should be prepared to work with children and adults. Candidates should have a valid driver's license and have transportation to work.</span><br><span> </span><br><span>An intern can expect to get a wide variety of experiences by working at the Oak Lawn Park District Racquet, Fitness &amp; Gymnastics Center, Stony Creek Golf Complex, Oak View Center, Community Pavilion, and Ice Arena. Applicants will be formally interviewed before an internship is offered.
