The Officer ensure proper medical response during emergencies, promotes preventive healthcare programs, maintain health records confidentially, and support university health and safety initiatives.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The Nursing Officer is required to stay within or be readily accessible to the campus to provide timely medical assistance and emergency support whenever needed.  </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 16px\">KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Provide clinical nursing care to students, staff and faculty, including assessment, treatment, education and referral.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all patients. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Organize and participate in health education sessions, workshops, and campaigns to promote health awareness among the university community.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Act as a first responder in emergencies within the university, providing immediate care and coordinating with other medical professionals as necessary. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Monitor and record patients’ conditions and provide appropriate healthcare guidance. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Assist in medical procedures and examinations. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Refer patients to specialists or other medical facilities when necessary. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Participate in health promotion, education, and prevention programs such as first aid for the university community.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Advise on best practices in areas such as nutrition, exercise, stress management and general health. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Act as an advocate for the patient, ensuring that their medical, emotional, and holistic needs are met. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Ensure compliance with PNG Health regulations and university policies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Support students with chronic health conditions or disabilities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Work collaboratively with student affairs and services, security, HR and academic departments etc.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Qualification &amp; Experiences </span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Diploma or degree in nursing from a recognized institution </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, preferably in an educational or community health setting </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Current and valid nursing license </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Proficient word-processing, spreadsheet, and database program skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Effective communication skills</span></li>\n<li>Well-organized and flexible to respond to shifting priorities.</li>\n</ul>",
