The ETSU College of Nursing invites applications for a full-time Technician/Lab Coordinator for the Undergraduate Programs Simulation Lab.
The Simulation Technician/Lab Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of simulation and skills laboratory activities by providing technical, training, and educational support to faculty and students.
The Simulation Technician/Lab Coordinator ensures the effective and efficient use of simulation spaces, technologies, equipment, and supplies; coordinates scheduling and lab readiness; and maintains accurate records to support a high-quality, safe, and learner-centered simulation environment. This role operates in alignment with the INACSL Standards of Best Practice: Simulation℠ and other nationally recognized simulation standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of standard office computer software. Knowledge of simulation and skills lab technologies, including electrical/technical AV systems, virtual reality platforms, manikins, and task trainers. Knowledge of current simulation standards and best practices as defined by INACSL, SSH, and other nationally recognized organizations. Knowledge of current healthcare practices and related technologies. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and multiple simultaneous projects. Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners. Ability to produce reports and maintain accurate records. Ability to work flexible hours, including potential evenings or weekends. Ability to travel as required. Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in nursing or related field (healthcare, emergency medical services, engineering, education, bioengineering, informational technology or related discipline) OR two (2) years of related work experience OR two (2) years of college (plus any additional required experience.) Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field (healthcare, education, engineering, bioengineering, information technology, or related discipline), or equivalent experience. One (1)–two (2) years of experience in healthcare simulation. Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) and/or Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE). Experience in a clinical or educational setting, preferably nursing, EMS, or medical education. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and simulation-related software. Quillen College of Medicine, the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, the College of Public Health, and the College of Health Sciences. The College of Nursing is the largest in the State of Tennessee offering multiple tracks for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs.
