    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Summary:</strong></p>\n<p>This position ensures that daily functions at a collections operation are completed correctly each day.  This includes ensuring all procedures (open/close, QC, donor screening, phlebotomy, automation, special collections) follow department and organizational SOPs and are in compliance with all regulatory standards.  This also includes ensuring blood donors are processed efficiently with the highest level of customer service.  The Operational Lead also provides daily work direction to collections employees scheduled, which includes coaching team members on SOPs, policies, job performance, customer service skills and professionalism.  The Operational Lead is required to competently perform donor screening and phlebotomy procedures as necessary to maintain efficiency at a collections operation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Schedule: </strong>Flexible schedule with rotating weekends.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<p>Provides daily supervision of a collections site</p>\n<p>Ensures all donor collections processes are performed per SOP</p>\n<p>Manages donor flow and trouble shoot donor scheduling issues</p>\n<p>Addresses customer service issues and initiate service recovery</p>\n<p>Maintains proper stock levels of supplies at collections site</p>\n<p>Communicates pertinent information to collections staff at site daily</p>\n<p>Trouble shoots equipment/ computer issues at site with the help of IT and Materials Management</p>\n<p>Performs collections procedures to maintain efficiency at operation</p>\n<p>Performs whole blood, special, and automation collections in accordance with applicable policies and procedures</p>\n<p>Follows safety procedures</p>\n<p>Provides excellent customer service to donors, patients, and sponsors</p>\n<p>Provides coaching to collections staff at site</p>\n<p>Addresses any policy/SOP deviations observed with collections staff </p>\n<p>Assists with venipuncture adjustments</p>\n<p>Attends meetings and training sessions as scheduled</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>IBR also offers comprehensive benefits (including medical, vision, dental, paid time off, and sick days) to full and part-time employees, as well as the opportunity to participate in a 403(b)-retirement plan with a generous employer contribution.</em></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education: </strong></p>\n<p>HS Diploma or equivalent <u>and</u> specialized training beyond HS (phlebotomy, medical assistant, EMT) or other post-secondary program</p>\n<p>Prefer medical or health care academic program or coursework</p>\n<p>              </p>\n<p><strong>Experience: </strong></p>\n<p>Two and one half (2.5) years of total experience in health care or customer service</p>\n<p>Minimum of 6 months experience in a blood center, plasma center, or other highly regulated environment</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Other:</strong></p>\n<p>Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant Certificate or EMT preferred</p>\n<p>Valid Driver’s license</p>\n<p>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written</p>\n<p>6 month experience in a lead or supervisor role preferred</p>\n<p>Teamwork and working with others</p>\n<p>High level of problem solving/ critical thinking skills</p>\n<p>Intermediate computer skills</p> \n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Founded in 1968, Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) has served Nebraska and western Iowa for more than 50 years, delivering more than 60,000 lifesaving blood products annually to 25+ hospitals, EMS and healthcare partners.
