Clean Harbors is looking for a Director of Health and Safety to join our safety conscious team! The Director will manage a team of Health and Safety professionals supporting Oil Sands operations in the Canada Oil Sands district. This position will report to the Sr. Director HS, IS Canada.
Position must sit out of our Fort McMurray, AB location.

Responsibilities
Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times. Working with the Sr. Director, Health and Safety-directly manage a team of Health and Safety professionals supporting the Oil Sand district. In coordination with District Leaders, a significant percentage of this role will be to attend and conduct Health and Safety site inspections and audits (“boots-on-the-ground”) to ensure compliance with Clean Harbors Health and Safety Policies, Standards, Procedures, Guidelines and Safe Work Practices. Audit Health and Safety team performance and compliance to Health and Safety Program core elements. Facilitate/guide and review Incident Investigations. Develop, conduct and/or audit Safety Meetings designed to promote a better understanding of Company/ Client Health and Safety Policies, Standards, Procedures and Guidelines. In collaboration with District Operations Leaders, develop, revise and conduct task-specific risk assessments. Prepare safety reports and presenting the information to management. Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Certificate in Industrial Hygiene, Safety or related programs, is an asset. Minimum 10 years of related health and safety experience. Experience working within Industrial Services environments is an asset. 5 years leadership experience. Excellent communication, writing, presentation and organizational skills. Ability to travel a minimum 30% of time.
