This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality service to customers</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks, according to manufacturer guidelines.</li><li>Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and HVAC systems.</li><li>Conduct vehicle inspections to identify any safety or performance concerns and recommend necessary repairs.</li><li>Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot vehicle problems accurately.</li><li>Interpret diagnostic codes and data to determine the root cause of issues and develop appropriate repair plans.</li><li>Keep up to date with advancements in automotive technology and diagnostic techniques.</li><li>Replace worn or damaged parts, such as belts, hoses, brakes, and filters, using appropriate tools and techniques.</li><li>Source and order replacement parts as needed, ensuring compatibility and quality.</li><li>Document parts used and work performed accurately in service records.</li><li>Communicate with customers to understand their vehicle concerns and explain repair options and costs clearly.</li><li>Provide estimates for repair work and obtain customer approval before proceeding with repairs.</li><li>Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.</li><li>Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools, equipment, and service bays.</li><li>Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.</li><li>Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on safety practices and technical skills.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills &amp; Qualifications</strong></p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical training program in automotive repair preferred.</li><li>Year(s) of experience as an Automotive Service Technician or similar role.</li><li>Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment, including scan tools, multimeters, and diagnostic software.</li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues.</li><li>Valid driver&#39;s license and clean driving record.</li></ul><p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><p>The automotive service technician works both indoors and outdoors. They are often exposed to hazardous conditions and equipment that may result in minor injuries.
