    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p>The Design Engineer will be responsible for design on multiple projects, working with other design disciplines internal and external to PEC to develop engineering solutions for PEC&rsquo;s Clients. &nbsp;This position will be responsible for preparing design deliverables for a variety of projects while maintaining PEC&rsquo;s standard of excellence. This position utilizes BIM/CAD software, hand calculations, and computer-based calculations.&nbsp;</p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Performs engineering design, coordinates with other design staff for construction document and specification production in compliance with building codes, construction administration, and development of reports/studies</li><li>Performs tasks during construction administration including review of submittals, site investigations, and RFI response under the direction of the Project Engineer</li><li>Performs design and takeoff computations by hand and by computer software</li><li>Organizes multiple projects and tasks and completes them in a timely manner, on schedule, and per PEC Standards</li><li>Organize project information and files according to corporate standard practices and workflows</li><li>Effectively communicates and coordinates with the Design Team to complete design tasks on numerous projects</li><li>Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company&rsquo;s discretion</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>Special Knowledge, skills and abilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to work<strong>&nbsp;</strong>independently and with others</li><li>Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills</li><li>Strong work ethic</li><li>Experience with computer aided drafting and modeling using industry accepted software as described below:<ol><li>AutoDesk Revit&nbsp;</li><li>AutoDesk AutoCAD</li><li>Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint</li><li>Bluebeam Revu</li><li>Acuity Visual Lighting Software and/or AGI</li><li>SKM Power Tools, EasyPower, and/or ETAP</li></ol></li><li>Experience with codes and regulations, interpreting plans, and design of discipline specific project components:<ol><li>Electrical Equipment Layout and Room Sizing</li><li>Building Electrical Distribution (Power Distribution Panels, Panelboards, Motor Control, Transformers, Surge Protection, Generators, UPS Sytems) Design<ul><li>Load Flow Calculations</li><li>Voltage Drop Calculations</li><li>Short Circuit Calculations</li><li>Overcurrent Protective Device Coordination</li><li>Arc Flash Calculations</li><li>Generator Sizing Calculations</li></ul></li><li>Building Electrical System Circuiting Design</li><li>Grounding System Design</li><li>Medium Voltage Distribution Design</li><li>Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) System Design</li><li>Building Lighting Design</li><li>Site Lighting Design</li><li>Sustainability/LEED Design</li><li>Fire Alarm Device Layout</li><li>Lightning Protection System Design</li><li>Cathodic Protection System Design</li><li>Electrical system design for Co-locate and Enterprise Data Centers</li><li>Basic Knowledge of Technology Systems<ul><li>Security, Access Control, Security Cameras</li><li>Audio-Visual Systems</li><li>Public Address Systems</li><li>Telecommunications Cabling</li><li>Nurse Call Systems</li></ul></li></ol></li></ul><p><strong>Education and Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&#39;s degree&nbsp;in an appropriate field of study from an ABET Accredited University is required</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>License and Certification:</strong></p><ul><li>Engineer in Training Certification preferred</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p><p>PEC values a healthy work-life balance, and we focus on working efficiently and collaboratively to ensure quality and productive work as well as quality time away from the office.
