Prepares and selects tissue samples for analysis.  May record findings or sterilize equipment. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The successful candidate will be able to:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs and/or assists Medical Director of Lab and Pathologists in the accessioning, dissection, evisceration, description autopsy, and histologic sampling of a full range of anatomical specimens.</li>\n <li>Supervises and trains entry level resident physicians in pathology methodology and procedures, under guidance and within protocol parameters provided by medical professional staff;.</li>\n <li>Performs frozen sections and other intra-operative consultations, within established protocol and procedural parameters.</li>\n <li>Coordinates the acquisition of tissue specimens used for research purposes.</li>\n <li>Maintains digital files, ensuring a high standard of specimen photography.</li>\n <li>Participates in the accessioning and labeling of specimens, specimen storage and disposal, and the maintenance of reagents and equipment.</li>\n <li>May complete postmortem examination reports.</li>\n <li>May review, interpret, and present findings.</li>\n <li>Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>What We're Looking For</h2>\n<p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program or in a medical or scientific field; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified</li>\n <li>Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis</li>\n <li>ASCP Pathologist’ Assistant (PA) Certification preferred</li>\n <li>Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards.</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of accession, dissection, anatomical description, and histological sampling methods and techniques.</li>\n <li>Records maintenance skills.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of pathology procedures, protocols, and techniques.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of procedures, regulations, and standards for the acquisition of human tissue specimens for research.</li>\n <li>Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of quality standards and requirements for pathology specimen photographs.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of biological specimen disposition, maintenance and storage procedures and techniques.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of chemical reagents and equipment used in pathology research.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>What We Offer</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications: When determining the compensation, several factors may be considered including, years of relevant experience, credentials, union contracts, education, and internal equity.</li>\n <li>Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance</li>\n <li>401K, Retirement savings plan </li>\n <li>Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays</li>\n <li>Tuition Reimbursement</li>\n <li>Opportunities for professional growth, development, and continuing education</li>\n <li>Employee wellness programs and resources</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Influenza Vaccinations are a requirement for employment.
