    "requisitionDescription": "<p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Purpose of Position:</strong></p><p>Provide patient and family focused medical care in accordance with NSHC&rsquo;s mission, philosophy, medical staff bylaws, policies, and procedures while applying standards for medical professionals in the clinical/hospital setting. This position coordinates patient assignments, monitors care and provides back up for other physicians. In addition to those duties which are routinely assigned to medical staff, this position may be required to coordinate medical services performed in the long term care facility, evaluating quality of care provided, reporting findings and making recommendations to the Chief of Staff, Administrator and/or Board of Directors.</p><p><br></p><p>Uphold the organization&rsquo;s vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization&rsquo;s policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Coordinate medical care within the facility to promote adequacy and appropriateness of medical services provided, acts as the medical representative of the facility and community and being responsible for day-to-day execution of patient care policies</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\"><br></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Participate in developing policies governing the medical, nursing, and related health services, admissions, and discharge within the facility</li></ul><p><br></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Provide effective medical care, including written orders available promptly upon admission of the patient, and quality follow up medical care while abiding by policies, rules and regulations for the attending physician</li></ul><p><br></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Provide consultation with the Administrator and/or designee in evaluating the adequacy of the long-term care nursing staff and the facility to meet the psycho-social, medical and physical needs of the patient, reviewing accident and incident reports, identifying health/safety hazards and making appropriate recommendations</li></ul><p><br></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Advise the Administrator or designee as to the adequacy of the facility&rsquo;s patient care services and medical equipment and, when appropriate, report that pattern, efficiency, appropriateness, or quality of care is not being provided</li></ul><p><br></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Participate in an effective program for the review of quality care, assisting in the arrangement of continuous physician coverage for medical emergencies and in developing procedures for emergency treatment of patients</li></ul><p><br></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Perform other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Personal Traits:</strong></p><p>All Norton Sound Health Corporation employees are expected to consistently demonstrate the organization&rsquo;s values: integrity, cultural sensitivity and respect for traditional values, continual learning and improving, compassion, teamwork and pride.
