The Residential Transporter is charged with providing <span style=\"background-color:#FFFFFF;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">the safe, timely and accurate transport of youth to a variety of community based appointments and activities. &#160;</span></span>As with the direct care position (Youth Development Professional), The Residential Transporter utilizes a child-centered approach and makes every effort to work in the best interest of children while facilitating the individual and environmental conditions that are necessary to create change.&#160; </span></span></p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span><strong>Summary of Responsibilities: </strong></span></span></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Transport youth and their families to a variety of destinations including but not limited to; school, college, medical appointments, employment (i.e. drop off to work, pick up from work), family visits, community outings, various OCFS youth forums, etc.&#160; </span></span></li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:13pt;\"><span style=\"background-color:#FFFFFF;\"><span><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Follow and obey all local and New<span> York State vehicle and traffic laws both professionally in the workplace, and personally outside of work as a clean driver&#8217;s license is required for this position.</span></span></span></span></span></li>\n\t<li><span style=\"font-size:13pt;\"><span style=\"background-color:#FFFFFF;\"><span><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Maintain Agency vehicle(s) in proper condition including cleanliness, and the reporting of all vehicle issues, needed repairs, accidents, etc. </span></span></span></span></span></li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Foster and support an environment by which each youth can be successful in making his/her own unique behavioral, emotional, intellectual, and developmental gains by:</span></span>\n\n\t<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle;\">\n\t\t<li style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Interacting and intervening with residents in accordance with their Individualized Crisis Management Plan, if applicable.</span></span></li>\n\t</ul>\n\t</li>\n\t<li style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Maintain a physically and emotionally safe &amp; supportive environment by:</span></span>\n\t<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle;\">\n\t\t<li style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Developing and providing a safe and secure physical environment for each resident.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Providing supervision of residents as it pertains to the supervision policy and expectations of the program.</span></span></li>\n\t</ul>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p style=\"margin-left:48px;text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention de-escalation techniques (proximity, time and space, caring gestures, etc.). </span></span></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle;\">\n\t\t<li style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Demonstrating appropriate social boundaries.</span></span></li>\n\t</ul>\n\t</li>\n\t<li style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Perform other essential functions of the job including:</span></span>\n\t<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle;\">\n\t\t<li style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Complete all assigned paperwork (Incident reports, Vehicle logs, etc.) accurately and on time. </span></span></li>\n\t\t<li style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Communicate all concerns involving youth including reporting incidents of child maltreatment, neglect, and/or abuse.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Follow all agency and department policies &amp; procedures.</span></span></li>\n\t\t<li style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><span>Other duties as assigned by supervisors.</span></span></li>\n\t</ul>\n\t</li>\n</ul>",
