Description

JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Fryer Operator SAFETY DUTIES: Wear proper personal protective equipment such as earplugs, gloves, safety eyeglasses and smock. Use proper lifting techniques. Always keep assigned area clean orderly. Report any accidents, unsafe equipment or area to the line leader or supervisor. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FRYER OPERATOR: Operate and manage various cooking equipment, including steam cooking vats, deep fryers, pressure cookers, kettles, and boilers, to prepare food products. Set and monitor temperature, pressure, and time controls, while starting and adjusting conveyors, machines, or pumps. Continuously observe gauges, dials, and product characteristics, making adjustments to ensure the proper temperature, pressure, and ingredient flow are maintained. Monitor and adjust equipment settings to regulate production materials or product flow. Collect and evaluate product samples throughout the production process to test for quality, color, content, consistency, viscosity, acidity, or specific gravity. Accurately record production and test data, including processing steps, temperature and steam readings, cooking times, batch numbers, and test results, to ensure consistent quality and compliance. Responsible for helping to produce safe, legal, and authentic products to the quality expectations of the customer. Supports, implements, and helps maintain and improve all Quality Management programs and procedures. Responsible for implementation, improvement, and enforcement of all programs and procedures related to BRC. SPECIFIC DUTIES: Employee will clock in and gather their supplies at the supply room when they arrive at the facility. Employee will sanitize hands before putting gloves on and after reporting to the work area. Employee will receive instructions from the line leader or supervisor. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employee will stand/walk 100% of the time. Able to lift up to 40 lbs. and ability to always work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. ENVIRONMENT: Poultry processors work in cold, damp conditions (40 ° to 50 ° degrees) to prevent the meat from spoiling. The work area surface is wet and slippery 100% of the time. Because processors work with knives and sharp machinery, there is a risk of accidental injuries, ranging from minor cuts to finger or limb amputations. EDUCATION: Minimum education required.
