Complete preparation and interpretation of accounting and performance data, directing budget and cost controls, financial analysis and accounting procedures. Complete audit activities.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>This position is primarily based out of our plant in Traverse City, MI. Open to candidates willing to relocate or travel up to 75% to this facility.</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Areas of responsibility include Generals Ledger, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cost Accounting and Fixed assets.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform and complete Month-end reporting requirements.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prepare weekly scorecard detailing line efficiencies, material overuse and spending variances.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prepare monthly forecast and review with plant manager&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prepare and/or coordinate all weekly/monthly cost savings financial reports.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prepare cost savings tracking. Verify savings estimates.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Develop annual operating plan and coordinate with department heads. Prepare required supporting worksheets and analysis. Meet AOP commitments.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Monitoring and compliance of internal controls &ndash; SOX (Sarbanes Oxley). Direct all testing procedures.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">P-card reconciliation and monitoring.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Coordinate BOM updates and NetSuite processing.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">BOM reviews and IE standards.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Work with floor supervision to learn production processes and understand issues when they are presented.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Timely resolution of day-to-day accounting issues and assist Plant manager as needed.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain manufacturing data systems integrity.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Analyze AOP volumes (compare year to year) cases and pounds.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Explode case volume to extrapolate pounds.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Gather and validate ingredient and packaging costs by SKU.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Gather/calculate all direct labor and benefits cots and assign to SKUs.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Gather/calculate all overhead costs and assign to SKUs.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ensure the Balance Sheet is current, accurate, and reconciled always.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Validate weekly payroll.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Review and account for obsolete materials.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Review and account for finished goods reserves.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Record any plant tests.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Analyze overhead costs and record accruals for annual unrecorded monthly expenses.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Calculate and record overhead volume variance.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Analyze manufacturing variances in product costs against AOP. Identify and report deviations from standard.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform and complete all the following activities:<ul type=\"circle\"><li>Weekly and monthly reporting of manufacturing variances (ingredients and packaging)</li><li>Daily, weekly, and monthly direct labor reporting and analysis.</li><li>Weekly and monthly review of indirect spend with department managers.</li><li>Daily backflushing of Bill of Material (BOM) requirements.</li><li>Daily validation of finished goods production.</li><li>Provide accurate and detailed cost estimates as required.</li><li>Review of monthly P&amp;L with leadership team</li><li>Annual inventory reconciliation of all raw materials, packaging, WIP items and finished goods</li></ul></li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>The position responsibilities outlined above are not to be construed as all encompassing.
