The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education &amp; computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for &ldquo;at-risk&rdquo; youth.</p><p>We are currently seeking a FT Food Service Helper at the Broward Outreach Centers in Miami, FL,</p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><u>JOB SUMMARY&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p>The <strong>Food Service Helper (FSH)</strong> reports to the <strong>Food Service Supervisor/Manager&nbsp;</strong>and assists with organizing the food warehouse, assisting Cooks in the kitchen, and pickup of donations at various supporters in Dade and Broward Counties.</p><p><strong><u>CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;</u></strong></p><ul><li>Assists the Food Service Supervisor/Manager with organizing the food warehouse, tracking and completing inventory</li><li>Sort and place materials or items on racks, selves or bins according to perishability status, size, type, style, color, or product code</li><li>Assists supervisor with maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, dining room, food warehouse and office</li><li>Sweep, dust, mop, and organize the work area to ensure orderliness at all times</li><li>Assists cooks with the preparation of meals</li><li>Drives an assigned vehicle to various locations for pickup of donations</li><li>Transport materials and donated items from receiving to designated storage areas</li><li>Assists supervisor with rotation of food to ensure first-in, first-out</li><li>Monitor warehouse forklifts and equipment to ensure proper operation</li><li>Promotes courtesy, respect and dignity when dealing with residents and coworkers</li><li>Attends company sponsored events to support the residents we serve</li><li>Will lead and/or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach events</li><li>Must be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of Faith</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong><u>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:&nbsp;</u></strong></p><ul><li>Must have a minimum of one (1) year warehouse experience and knowledge in food storage procedures.</li><li>Position may require a State of Florida Food Handler&rsquo;s Certificate and/or a Certified Forklift Operator</li><li>Must have some knowledge of institutional food preparation and storage &nbsp;</li><li>Must also be familiar with OSHA and local health department regulations</li><li>Requires a Valid State of Florida driver&rsquo;s license (4 pt. max) with good driving record and receive approval of the Mission&rsquo;s insurance company to drive company vehicle</li><li>Must have a professional demeanor to deal with residents, donors and supporters</li><li>Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English<em>&nbsp;</em></li></ul><p><strong><u>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Will work in the kitchen, dining room, food warehouse, and outside areas that may be climate-controlled, hot, steamy, cold, damp, wet, slippery, freezing, humid, noisy, dirty, dusty, or greasy. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and machinery, hot and cold equipment and water</li><li>Must be able to stand for extended periods, and have the ability to lift and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds</li><li>Must also be able to taste, touch, smell, see, hear and speak, in order to perform essential job duties and interact with staff and the general public</li><li>Must also be able to move around as needed to perform essential job duties</li></ul><p><strong><u>PERKS AND BENEFITS</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Day off for Birthday/Work Anniversary</li><li>Employee Discounts</li><li>Holidays (12)</li><li>Paid Time Off</li><li>Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, GAP and Health Savings Account)</li><li>Company Paid Life insurance</li><li>403b Retirement Plan with 3% match</li></ul><p>Only qualified candidates will be considered.
