    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Title: Diagnostic Sonographer (OB/GYN)</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">FLSA Status: Non-exempt </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Classification: Full-Time, 40 hours</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Supervises: None </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reports to: Clinic Director</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Principle Functions:</span> The Sonographer is responsible for providing an initial scan to determine fetal viability, i.e. IUP, cardiac activity, and gestational age to patients in their first trimester of pregnancy. Additionally, the Sonographer will perform a scan for someone who is late to care if indicated by the clinician. The sonographer will also provide a proof of pregnancy and provide support and resource information (including The Source resources/programs and resources in the surrounding community) to patients as needed.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<p>· Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.</p>\n<p>· Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the sanctity of human life and sexual purity.</p>\n<p>· Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith and policies of the center.</p>\n<p>· Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with current credentials, required.</p>\n<p>· 2+ year of experience in obstetrics, preferred.</p>\n<p>· Able to operate various brands of ultrasound equipment and confident performing both transvaginal and abdominal ultrasound.</p>\n<p>· Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred.</p>\n<p>· Have experience with Microsoft Office computer applications.</p>\n<p>· Be self-motivated, dependable, and responsible.</p>\n<p>· Exhibit strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.</p>\n<p>· Have the ability to select, develop and motivate people and create a positive work and volunteer environment.</p>\n<p>· Must be flexible and have well developed interpersonal skills.</p>\n<p>· Demonstrate compassion, cheerfulness, and professionalism.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Essential Job Functions</span></p>\n<p>· Perform ultrasound exams for new and returning patients per protocol.</p>\n<p>· Educate patients about fetal development, gestational age, and fetal anatomy visualized through ultrasound.</p>\n<p>· Assist in maintaining ultrasound log and other procedure logs.</p>\n<p>· Communicate additional patient referral needs to provide continuity of care.</p>\n<p>· Follow guidelines in Policy &amp; Procedure manual regarding emergency procedures, safety and infection control, clinical systems, ultrasound protocols and patient education</p>\n<p>· Assist in ordering needed medical supplies.</p>\n<p>· Provide patients accurate information about abortion, parenting, and adoption and tell them about support resources provided by The Source.</p>\n<p>· Crosstrain in other area of the clinic to provide backup when needed.</p>\n<p>· Offer support, material, and referrals appropriate to patient’s situation.</p>\n<p>· Coordinate appropriate follow up with patients according to the policies and guidelines of The Source.</p>\n<p>· Keep current on information in The Source’s referral system.</p>\n<p>· Maintain patient records as indicated in clinic policies and guidelines.</p>\n<p>· Create an atmosphere of warmth and compassion.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">General</span></p>\n<p>· Attend staff meetings</p>\n<p>· Assist in special events, including annual fundraisers, 101’s and church presentations as needed.</p>\n<p>· Establish positive working relationships with staff members and volunteers.</p>\n<p>· Other duties, as assigned.</p>",
