This project aims to improve digital accessibility for individuals with disabilities and align the digital platforms with federal accessibility requirements.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li><p><strong>Accessibility Audits:</strong><br>Execute comprehensive audits for websites and mobile applications, ensuring adherence to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.<br><br><b>The SME will run an automated and a manual audit. Manual testing of web pages requires physical navigating pages through normal use as well as using assistive technology. (<em>We use Chrome with JAWS for manual testing. The automatic testing is done with AMP and AXE.</em> By this audit we will uncover all the Section 508 non-compliant instances including):</b></p><ul><li>Alternative text for images</li><li>Keyboard navigation</li><li>Sufficient color contrast</li><li>Transcripts for audio/video content</li><li>Use of color</li><li>Text resizing</li><li>Logical focus order</li><li>Error handling</li><li>Name role and value for custom controls</li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Issue Identification &amp; Prioritization:</strong><br>Detect areas of non-compliance, prioritize remediation efforts, and propose actionable recommendations.</p></li><li><p><strong>Reporting:</strong><br>Develop thorough reports that detail audit findings and offer clear, context-specific recommendations for improvement.
