These skills provide our clients with buildings that function reliably by preventing unwanted water intrusion, condensation, energy loss, air leakage, and physical deterioration.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Manage challenging building enclosure consulting projects.</li><li>Act as a senior client manager for key clients.</li><li>Grow the business through business development activities.</li><li>Review the work of other BPL staff members for technical accuracy and business suitability.</li><li>Mentor and train BPL staff on technical and business issues.</li><li>Prepare budgets and proposals for building enclosure services on a wide range of building and client types.</li><li>Review project construction documents for technical accuracy and suitability.</li><li>Evaluate existing buildings to identify enclosure problems and develop proper repair designs.</li><li>Prepare reports to summarize methodologies, observations, conclusions, and recommendations.</li><li>Attend design phase, pre-construction, pre-installation, and construction progress meetings and provide technical expertise.</li><li>Conduct regular walk-through observations of building enclosure construction for compliance with contract documents, manufacturers&rsquo; instructions, and industry standards.</li><li>Periodically travel outside of the Detroit metro area for project assignments.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelors&rsquo; degree and/or technical diploma in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related discipline, or equivalent of industry experience.</li><li>10+ years&nbsp;of experience in building enclosure design and/or construction related work.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Excellent communicator, both verbal and written.&nbsp;</li><li>Understanding of the consulting engineering business.</li><li>Excellent leadership qualities to build relationships and collaborate within a Team, internally and externally.</li><li>Strong project management skills, including project budgets, scheduling, and Team management.</li><li>Knowledge of construction assemblies for a variety of construction systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Expertise in building enclosure technical issues.</li><li>Strong business development and marketing knowledge.</li><li>Industry recognized presentation skills.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Key Character Traits</strong></p><ul><li>Professional demeanor.</li><li>Passion for learning and working as part of a Team. &nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.</li><li>Manages own time and exercises rational judgement.</li><li>Works independently to deliver successful projects.</li><li>Innovative thinker who looks for ways to improve processes and procedures.</li></ul><p><strong>Why You Will Want to Join the BPL Team</strong></p><ul><li>Our team: &nbsp;We are committed to life-long learning and are dedicated to the professional development and mentoring of our team members over their entire careers.</li><li>Our clients: &nbsp;We have enduring client relationships based on mutual respect and trust. &nbsp;</li><li>Our projects: &nbsp;Our clients trust us to deliver some of the most challenging and interesting projects.&nbsp;</li><li>Our culture: &nbsp;Our Team includes people of high character and diverse talents, working collaboratively to encourage each other to deliver the best results for our clients.
