    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span><strong><u>About the Job:</u></strong></span></p>\n<p><span>The Scientist I, Clinical Development is a scientist with data expertise leading key scientific studies from concept through to publication, focused on value of FMI’s products in clinical practice and oncology drug development. This role executes on strategic scientific collaborations involving a range of functions and external collaborators, supporting studies that establish the clinical validity and utility of products and biomarkers aligned to Clinical Development Plans and FMI enterprise strategy. Working with Clinical Development leadership, this position will execute analysis for and support studies through conceptualization, narrative building, and writing using clinical cohorts or real-world evidence in partnership with the project lead.</span></p>\n<p><span><strong><u>Key Responsibilities:</u></strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Execute analysis for multiple projects and publications supporting Clinical Development Plans (CDPs) and establishing clinical validity and clinical utility of our products.</span></li>\n <li><span>Contribute to projects including working with project lead to layout key objectives, figures, and narrative for abstracts and manuscripts, and soliciting and incorporate input from key stakeholders with guidance from CDP leads.</span></li>\n <li><span>Conduct translational research to develop insights into predictive and prognostic biomarkers.</span></li>\n <li><span>Leverage FMI’s clinical and genomic datasets to link genomic findings with clinical outcomes.</span></li>\n <li><span>Contribute to protocol and SAP design and review for studies led by Clinical Development.</span></li>\n <li><span>Support collaboration cross-functionally with internal and external scientists and thought leaders (academic and biopharma)</span></li>\n <li><span>Manage and establish beneficial collaborations with key opinion leaders in oncology.</span></li>\n <li><span>Continually develop domain expertise in genomics from a scientific, clinical and technical standpoint and lend insights to cross-functional teams to further the development of our products and strategy.</span></li>\n <li><span>Maintain availability to the wider FMI business for clinical development expertise, presenting information and evidence to scientific, medical legal, commercial or other stakeholders as appropriate</span></li>\n <li><span>Maintain and deepen disease area-specific clinical and data science expertise</span></li>\n <li><span>Begin to build awareness of biomarker and product development and department and business strategy and evaluate strategic alignment and priority of new projects with guidance.</span></li>\n <li><span>Other duties as assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong><u>Qualifications:</u></strong></span></p>\n<p><span><strong><u>Basic Qualifications:</u></strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Bachelor’s degree + 4 years related work experience, OR</span></li>\n <li><span>Master’s Degree in life sciences and 2+ year(s) of experience in clinical outcomes and/or genomics in an academic or life sciences industry setting, OR</span></li>\n <li><span>Doctorate Degree or Ph.D. in a life sciences or data science</span></li>\n <li><span>Proficiency with one or more script languages (Python, Perl, etc.) and statistical software package (R, SAS)</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong><u>Preferred Qualifications:</u></strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Expertise in translational research linking genomic biomarkers with clinical outcomes</span></li>\n <li><span>Experience with biomedical data analysis (genomics data, clinical outcomes, real-world data, liquid biopsy, RNA and protein expression)</span></li>\n <li><span>Experience with communicating with academic scientists and treating physicians</span></li>\n <li><span>Track record of taking projects from concept to completion</span></li>\n <li><span>Lead-authored publications, and demonstrated excellence in writing</span></li>\n <li><span>Ability to work independently as well as collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams</span></li>\n <li><span>Knowledge of oncology, next-generation sequencing, clinical trials, and/or companion diagnostics.</span></li>\n <li><span>Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment</span></li>\n <li><span>Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail</span></li>\n <li><span>Extremely high level of integrity and reliability</span></li>\n <li><span>Excellent presentation skills</span></li>\n <li><span>Willingness to adhere to all applicable FMI Standard Operating Procedures, policies, processes, and compliance guidelines</span></li>\n <li><span>Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy</span></li>\n <li><span>Commitment to FMIs values: integrity, courage, and passion</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p>The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Boston, MA is $113,000 - $135,000 per year. The salary range is commensurate with Foundation Medicine’s compensation practice and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for Foundation Medicine's benefits.</p>\n<p>#LI-Hybrid</p>",
