All questions concerning the position should be directed to Dr. Stephanie Smith ([email protected]) Interim Director, School of Kinesiology Nutrition. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship. The University will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B). Job Summary The University of Southern Mississippi is accepting applications for the 2026-27 academic year, for a nine-month, full-time visiting instructor position within the School of Kinesiology Nutrition, College of Education and Human Sciences to begin fall 2026. This position requires teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses and mentoring students. The ideal candidate would be qualified to teach courses that support at least one of the school's programs: Nutrition and Dietetics, Exercise Science, Sport Coaching, Fitness and Nutrition, and/or K-12 Physical Education. Primary Duties and Responsibilities A visiting instructor appointment involves: Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate coursework; Maintaining regular and responsive communication with faculty, staff and students; Mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students; Engaging with program coordinators and faculty to maintain quality teaching and assessment standards; Performing other duties as assigned.
