    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>This Opportunity</strong></p><p>WSP is searching for a Civil Engineer (Remediation) with an interest in geotechnical engineering and construction management.<span>&nbsp; </span>This specific role will be working on investigation and remediation of contaminated soil and/or groundwater.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Your Impact</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Assist with sampling contaminated soil and/or groundwater, preparation of work plans, health and safety plans, and final reports for the investigations.</li><li>Collect, compile, and analyze data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, subsurface utility information, maps, geotechnical data, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction. &nbsp;Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, sketches, calculations, and illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.</li><li>Developing remedial alternatives for a problem identified, developing cost estimates for the remedial alternatives and preparing the feasibility study report describing the relevant information and description of alternatives with figures and tables.</li><li>Prepare design drawings and specifications for the selected remedial alternative and associated engineering design report.</li><li>Oversee the implementation of the design during construction, which may be local or out of town.</li><li>Work as an individual or as part of a cross-functional team of engineers, planners, and scientific professionals to execute project work, assist with laying out installations, establishing reference points/elevations/grades to guide construction, calculating costs and quantities of material/equipment/labor, and ensuring project work conforms with specifications, permit applications, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.</li><li>Assist with development and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects.</li><li>The position will involve field work and depending on the project location may include long-term field assignments that will require out of town travel.<span>&nbsp;</span></li></ul><p><strong>Who You Are</strong></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.</li><li>3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience in civil engineering discipline.</li><li>Engineer in Training Certification and ability to obtain professional engineer’s license.</li><li>Moderate proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles,<span>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>spreadsheets, and tools.</li><li>Valid driver’s license.</li><li>Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.</li><li>Upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies , and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.</li><li>Knowledge of relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.</li><li>Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.</li><li>Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.</li><li>Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.</li><li>Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.&nbsp;</li><li>40-Hour OSHA Health &amp; Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.</li><li>Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p style=\"background-color: white; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: Roboto;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9pt;\">&nbsp;</span></span><strong>WSP Benefits:</strong></p><p>WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
