Discover all the possibilities of a career at Northside today.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong><u>PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</u></strong></p>\n<li>Collects pertinent medical information and reviews physician’s order to identify reason for examination and potential contraindications.</li>\n<li>Explains procedure to patient and ensures consent form is signed if required for examination.</li>\n<li>Positions patient and administers oral, rectal or intravenous contrast as required. Monitors patient reaction and responds to adverse reactions with emergency procedures as necessary.</li>\n<li>Selects equipment parameters and logs pertinent information.</li>\n<li>Performs scanning procedure. Modifies parameters as required to improve visualization of desired anatomy.  </li>\n<li>Organizes images, performs the scan and transfers exam to PACS system.</li>\n<li>Aids with transportation of patients to and from Emergency Room and Inpatient areas.</li>\n<li>Responsible for ensuring communication to radiologist regarding Acute Stroke patients and certifying compliance with Acute Stroke protocols.</li>\n<li>Perform POC iSTAT testing and screen for contrast contraindications.</li>\n<p> </p>\n<li>Enters patient charges into computer.</li>\n<li>Monitors equipment for functionality and performance. Refers noted problems to the CT Supervisor.</li>\n<li>Assists in orienting and training personnel as necessary.</li>\n<li>Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury‑accident to Manager.</li>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In addition to the duties above, the CT/Diagnostic Tech may have the following job responsibilities as applicable:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<li>Performs myelograms, venograms, arthrograms, and other studies requiring intravenous injection of contrast medium.</li>\n<li>Assists physicians with studies or treatment. Delivers intravenous medication under direct supervision of physicians.</li>\n<p> </p>\n<li>Regularly performs the duties and responsibilities of the Radiologic Technologist. Performs routine radiographic examinations in accordance with specific operating instructions and safety standards.</li>\n<li>Assesses patient condition throughout procedure and observes for adverse reactions. Recognizes and responds to emergency situations according to departmental procedures.</li>\n<li>Must be able to work in a team environment. May be asked to work in another department as needs dictate.</li>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>REQUIRED</u></strong></p>\n<li> Graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB accredited school</li>\n<li> Registered CT Technologist with the ARRT (CT) or NMTCB (CT) </li>\n<li> Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)</li>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>PREFERRED</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<li>Prior training or experience in Computerized Tomography (CT) scanning.</li>\n<li>Ability to insert intravenous catheter</li>\n<h2>Work Hours:</h2>6:30pm-7am (Fri-Sun)\n<h2>Weekend Requirements:</h2>Yes",
