Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Novelis has approximately 13,000 employees in 32 operating facilities on 4 continents.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities & Qualifications</h2>\n<p>The Novelis Ashville Rolled Products North America (RPNA) division is seeking to add a Mechanical Engineer to its team. The individual in this position will use mechanical engineering knowledge to support high volume aluminum coating & slitting processes through OpEx & CapEx initiatives/projects in a collaborative team environment.</p>\n<h2><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Participate in & support all aspects of the Novelis safety systems and Safety Absolutes.</li>\n <li>Ensure work done aligns with all corporate, plant, and regulatory safety standards.</li>\n <li>Ensure safety is designed into all aspects of assigned projects.</li>\n <li>Ensure vendors and contractors meet Novelis safety requirements</li>\n <li>Engage collaboratively & participate in support of the plant single-agenda and plant ethos.</li>\n <li>Provide Engineering Support for industrial continuous coating lines, multiple slitting machine centers, & facility systems.</li>\n <li>Provide specific support to fix equipment issues and perform root cause analysis.</li>\n <li>Develop & implement corrective and preventive actions to improve asset reliability.</li>\n <li>Lead and support capital projects & other improvement projects from a mechanical engineering standpoint collaborating for on-time & on-budget results.</li>\n <li>Support outages and shutdown work in coordination with reliability, operations & supply chain.</li>\n <li>Manage vendors, contractors, and internal project teams as needed.</li>\n <li>Support the site Reliability Excellence process through participation in and support of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, spares planning & management, reliability best practices, etc.</li>\n <li>Support the Novelis Operating System (NOS) as they relate to Reliability Excellence & Operator Care Practices.</li>\n <li>Other items as assigned.</li>\n <li>Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Mechanical engineering degree, or degree in related engineering field, required.</li>\n <li>Minimum 3 years of related industrial experience, including planning, specification, and implementation of engineering design projects.</li>\n <li>Experience in the aluminum industry preferred; experience with continuous flat rolled product process preferred.</li>\n <li>Technical and process management skills are needed in this position, with potential ability to work multiple projects simultaneously.</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of maintenance processes is beneficial</li>\n <li>Must possess strong decision making and problem-solving skills including the ability to solve problems while exhibiting practical judgment and realistic understanding of the issues involved.</li>\n <li>Ability to overcome obstacles and find reasonable resolutions to situations on a case-by-case basis as encountered.</li>\n <li>Must have the ability and confidence to make decisions relating to role’s accountabilities.</li>\n <li>Ability to exercise discretion when determining if direction from manager is needed.</li>\n <li>Ability to lead and participate collaboratively.</li>\n <li>Effective communication and teamwork skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong>:</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>CMMS experience.</li>\n <li>Experience in aluminum or steel manufacturing.</li>\n <li>Exposure to TPM, Lean, or Six Sigma.</li>\n <li>AutoCAD or SolidWorks knowledge.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
