The successful candidate will work closely with senior application support staff—particularly shadowing and learning to support critical 24/7 core banking systems operations.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their DevOps career who is eager to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience with enterprise-grade applications, deployments, monitoring, automation, and infrastructure operations. </span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The role will involve night-shift coverage together with support for evening/night deployments, helping to reduce workload on the senior application support engineers.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Duties and responsibilities:</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Shadow and learn from senior application support<br>engineers to understand daily operational processes.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Monitor system health, alerts, and scheduled jobs; escalate issues as required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Learn and support CI/CD pipelines, automation tooling, configuration management, and scripting.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, deployments, and system changes.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Contribute to knowledge sharing and process improvements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Work closely with the senior DevOps team and cross-functional teams (Apps DBA, Infrastructure, Development).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Support system upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance activities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Assist with Core Banking system application deployments (including evening/night deployments).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Support incident response, troubleshooting, and emergency interventions.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Provide night-shift support for core banking systems (after a structured training period).</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Required knowledge, skills and experience:</span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Essential:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Basic understanding of Linux systems and shell scripting.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of DevOps concepts such as CI/CD, monitoring, automation, and version control (Git).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Willingness and ability to work regular night shifts.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive mindset.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Passion for learning new technologies and improving operational processes.</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Desirable:</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Application servers (Apache Tomcat/IBM WebSphere)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Containers/OpenShift/Kubernetes</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Monitoring tools (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Database concepts (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Experience with deployment processes or supporting production systems</span></li>\n</ul>",
