    "description": "<p><br></p>\n<p>Pierpont Community &amp; Technical College is seeking, inviting, and welcoming adjunct faculty instructors in a variety of disciplines:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applied Design</li>\n<li>Applied Process Technology</li>\n<li>ASL/Interpreter Education</li>\n<li>Aviation Maintenance Technology</li>\n<li>Business</li>\n<li>Communications</li>\n<li>Criminal Justice</li>\n<li>Culinary Arts</li>\n<li>Drafting/Design Engineering Technology</li>\n<li>Early Childhood</li>\n<li>Electric Utility Technology</li>\n<li>Emergency Medical Services</li>\n<li>English</li>\n<li>Food Service Management</li>\n<li>Graphics</li>\n<li>Health Information Technology</li>\n<li>Industrial Maintenance</li>\n<li>Information Systems Technology</li>\n<li>Medical Lab Assistant</li>\n<li>Licensed Practical Nursing</li>\n<li>Math</li>\n<li>Medical Laboratory Technology</li>\n<li>Mining Maintenance Technology</li>\n<li>Paralegal Studies</li>\n<li>Petroleum Technology</li>\n<li>Physical Therapist Assistant</li>\n<li>Radiologic Technology</li>\n<li>Respiratory Care</li>\n<li>Social Sciences (e.g., psychology; sociology; women and gender studies; social work; race, class, and gender)</li>\n<li>Natural Sciences (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Human Anatomy &amp; Physiology, Microbiology)</li>\n<li>Physical Sciences (e.g., Physics)</li>\n<li>Veterinary Technology</li>\n<li>Welding</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Examples Of Duties of adjunct instructors include but aren't limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teach community &amp; technical college students in a specific field of expertise and engage with students to help them learn.</li>\n<li>Review/refine a class syllabus to include instructor-specific contact information and course policies and ensuring that the syllabus meets department and college standards</li>\n<li>Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments</li>\n<li>Grade assigned papers, quizzes, and exams</li>\n<li>Assess students' progress based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations</li>\n<li>Report student learning outcomes, class reviews, and analyzing student data</li>\n<li>Collaborate with colleagues on the course curriculum</li>\n<li>Advise students on how to be successful in class</li>\n<li>Stay updated on innovations and changes within their course field</li>\n<li>Record class attendance and submit (if needed) to program coordinator</li>\n<li>Meet assigned classes as scheduled and follow school policies on absences</li>\n<li>Adhere to designated instructional time for all classes (1 credit hour of lecture = 1 contact hour; 3 credit hours of lecture = 3 contact hours)</li>\n<li>Utilize assigned institutional email address and systems. Email is the OFFICIAL form of communication</li>\n<li>Meet established deadlines for submission of student grades in ROAR</li>\n<li>Participate in course evaluation process</li>\n<li>Designate and avail yourself to at least one hour, either virtually or in-person, as an office hour.
