NHA has grown from a single location in 1969 to 12 medical and dental clinics throughout Lucas County. Today we operate multiple health centers including pediatrics, adult medicine, dental services, health care for the homeless, women’s health center, senior centers, and a full-service pharmacy with lab services on site.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-weight: bold\">General Function:</span></p>\n<p><span>Under immediate supervision, the Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical functions to assist and support providers and medical staff in the provision of medical care which includes patient triage, and maintaining patient records in an accurate, organized and readily retrievable manner. To ensure all patients and general public are greeted and treated with courtesy and respect. Ensure patient confidentiality when receiving and entering patient information accurately into the system. Supply current demographics needed for medical staff, referrals, billing and UDS.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">General Duties:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Serve and protect the patients, medical provider, organization and self by adhering to professional standards; policies and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span>Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.</span></li>\n<li><span>Participates in QA meetings and duties as assigned.</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.</span></li>\n<li><span>Familiar with the center’s Fire &amp; Disaster plan and the role of the Medical Assistant in that plan.</span></li>\n<li><span>Knowledgeable of and adhere to departmental and agency policies.</span></li>\n<li><span>Perform related work as required or requested by manager.</span></li>\n<li><span>Performs other duties as assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Skills/Qualifications include but are not limited to:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program</span></li>\n<li><span>New Grads Welcome.</span></li>\n<li><span>Current certification in CPR or willingness to become CPR certified (we offer the CPR class monthly if needed)</span></li>\n<li><span>Working knowledge of medical terminology</span></li>\n<li><span>Shows initiative and ability to use sound judgment in the absence of specific orders.</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.</span></li>\n<li><span>Must be sensitive to cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity.</span></li>\n<li><span>Experience in working with medically underserved preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span>Regular, Punctual Attendance is a requirement of this position.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Work Monday through Friday, no nights, weekends or holidays</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(45, 45, 45); font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif\">We offer a competitive salary and benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, a matching retirement plan, Employee Assistance Program, 11 paid holidays and generous PTO.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Please provide your salary requirements when you apply to be considered for an interview for this position.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>For more than 50 years, NHA has placed a strong focus on prevention and empowering individual responsibility in managing their health care and overall well-being.
