Performs required grounds and equipment maintenance and repair work. Performs related work as required.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>KEY FUNCTIONS</strong></p><ul><li dir=\"auto\">Assists in supervising the duties of golf course maintenance staff. Supervisory duties include scheduling; instructing; assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; allocating personnel and acting on employee problems. Reviews work of subordinates for completeness and quality; offers training, advice and assistance as needed.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Inspects grounds, buildings and equipment for safety; takes corrective action as necessary.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Oversees and participates in routine and corrective course maintenance tasks, including landscape installation and maintenance, turf maintenance, irrigation installation and repair, chemical applications, drainage installation and repair, and the construction / maintenance of teeing areas, greens, bunkers, cart paths, etc.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Oversees and participates in the maintenance and repair of golf carts, equipment, buildings, grounds, etc.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Inspects maintenance work in progress to ensure compliance with established schedules, policies and standards of quality and safety.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Prepares routine reports and records as required.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Operates a variety of equipment such as hand and power tools, golf cart, tractor/mowers, backhoe, dump truck, turf maintenance equipment, etc.&nbsp;</li><li dir=\"auto\">Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other company directors and officials, subordinates, customers, sales representatives, golf professionals, contractors, tournament committee members, and the general public.</li><li dir=\"auto\">All other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES</strong></p><ul><li dir=\"auto\">Good understanding of agronomy and best practices for turf management</li><li dir=\"auto\">Must be reliable, dependable, professional and trustworthy &nbsp;</li><li dir=\"auto\">Strong organizational and time-management skills&nbsp;</li><li dir=\"auto\">Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication&nbsp;</li><li dir=\"auto\">Strong mechanical aptitude and experience</li></ul><p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</strong><br>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.&nbsp;</p><ul><li dir=\"auto\">High School Diploma or equivalent, Associates or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred in turf management supplemented by three to five years of experience in golf course/grounds maintenance or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Certification as a pesticide applicator or ability to obtain</li><li dir=\"auto\">Valid driver&rsquo;s license with safe driving history</li></ul><p><strong>REPORTING TO THIS POSITION</strong> &nbsp;<br>Maintenance Crew and Mechanic when Superintendent is absent</p><p><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</strong><br>Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including turf maintenance equipment, tractors/mowers, heavy equipment, hand and power tools, etc. Must be able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work; must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and lift and/or carry weights of up to seventy-five pounds.
