For over 90 years, we have been a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, and interior design firm. With a focus on healthcare and federal projects, we deliver impactful, innovative spaces that shape communities and improve lives. We’re a passionate, collaborative team that values excellence, relationships, and fun. If you're looking to make a difference through meaningful work, let’s build something great together. We make places that perform. The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for coordinating the design of Plumbing and Fire Suppression systems with team members during all phases of the design delivery and construction processes. This candidate will also support the Healthcare Sector business development and marketing efforts and have the opportunity to develop into a discipline lead for the sector. Responsibilities Be responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, ensuring high-quality deliverables and fostering career development. Be responsible for creating Plumbing and Fire Suppression (including source equipment and piping distribution systems, and associated controls and accessories) design documents for construction including but not limited to drawings, calculations, specifications, and narratives/reports. (Plumbing systems include domestic water systems, sanitary and storm systems, natural and medical gas systems. Fire suppression systems include fire sprinkler systems, and inert gas fire protection systems.) Provide consulting services, including preparation of due diligence reports, gap analyses, and feasibility reports. Coordinate with design teams, owners, contractors, reviewers, and other relevant stakeholders. Apply design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects. Consult with senior engineers or designers concerning unusual problems and developments. Perform field investigations as required to validate existing site and building conditions. Complete engineering-related activities throughout all phases of the design delivery process including but not limited to reviewing shop drawings, responding to requests for information (RFIs), and conducting site observation during the construction administration phase. This role may require adjusting work hours or working additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines and business demands. Other duties as assigned.
