JumpCloud is Intelligent, Secure IT. About the Role As a Senior Engineering Manager for Devices, you won't just manage teams, you will be a primary architect of our engineering culture. You will lead a critical sub-organization responsible for the backbone of our device management platform. We are looking for a leader who possesses deep technical intuition, a passion for operational excellence, and the ability to mentor high-level talent while partnering with executive leadership to define the future of our product. You will be responsible to build out features, help drive architecture, define best practices and enable product quality. You are required to guide the engineering teams reporting to you to make things happen and excel. In this process, you will have influence over engineering practices in addition to product strategy and execution. You will have the opportunity to play a key role in the success and development of our engineering teams in addition to growing your own career. We are seeking a technically enabled leader who is passionate about building great products and high performing teams. In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role, depending on individual candidate level and experience, is $175,000 - $210,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions. Set and maintain the technical bar for the Devices Management group. Drive high engineering standards across the organization, including rigorous architectural reviews, automated testing strategies, and operational excellence. Partner with Product and Design leadership to define the strategic vision. You will translate complex business requirements into high-level technical execution plans that balance aggressive delivery with technical sustainability. Drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering workflows to measurably improve developer velocity and reduce routine boilerplate work. Identify and resolve systemic organizational bottlenecks. You will be responsible for optimizing the SDLC, improving developer velocity, and utilizing data (such as DORA metrics) to drive continuous improvement in team performance. As an active member of the engineering leadership team, you will partner with your peers and other teams to build, lead, and inspire a world class engineering organization. What we are looking for: 8+ years of experience in engineering leadership, with at least 3+ years managing multiple teams or a sub-organization of 10+ engineers Experience leading and building software engineering teams developing on top of public clouds, like AWS, GCP, or Azure Demonstrated track record of developing leadership talent (mentoring Senior engineers into Lead, Staff or Manager roles) Proven ability to lead and empower high-level Individual Contributors (Staff+).
